Your bass in to high on the receiver or you need to upgrade your speaker wire to handle the power given to your speakers. Or you speakers can not handle the power of the amp. but 1st try adjusting your Bass Level down some to see if that works.

Your Protection System probaly come on for some reason,Sony Is Known for that problem, Check on your screen if a red lit warning Staying (protect) Is on.If there is, Try hiting the reciever on the sides or the top of the cover fairly hard when it is turned on, Some times this will work to turn the protect light back off, Sony is bad for there amps end recievers going into the protect mode,

I have a RT2380Bk model RCA Home Theater system that will not come on. Once I plug it in, the red indicator light is on, but when I press the power button all I get is this click and the red indicator...

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

Four digit codes for philips are:
PHILIPS ........... 0062 0204 0184 0208 0205 0206 0207 0004 0189 0183 0199 0200 0288 0456 0003 0008 0068 0075 0086 0087 0141
philips magnavox are:
PHILIPS-MAGNAVOX ..... 0062 0204 0207 0183 0226 0288
Direct Code Entry

  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
Code Search If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.
OK.

Dear support team... i am fix in a problem with my reveiver.. kindly help.. i just got my onkyo TX-NR3007 today in india from mew york,, now i am facing a problem.. i connected it with power outlet and...

In the receiver there is a ampere ic.Its located on the inner circuit board of the receiver. Its got short and faulty. And also the noise which you are hearing again n again this noise is coming from other components on the receiver board getting short.Dont connect it to the power source it will get damaged.First get it repaired by replacing the IC.Also now you have tried and connected the receiver to power source so this might have damage some more electrical components on the board. So all this components has to be replaced. As it will not be very costly repair to get this components replaced. All the required components are easily available at local hardware stores dealing in electrical parts and components. If you are familiar with doing soldering jobs and if you have experience of using multimeter then instead of going to technician you can repair this problem your self by replacing the component. also to disassemble the unit you require a screw driver ands thin knife to un-clip the internal hidden clips. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
