Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Hi I own a Phillips rear projection TV model 55pp8620 around the edges the colours are out of alignment and focus while the centre of screen is fine. I have tried to adjust without success. Does it need the lamps replacing ? Or some opther problem ?
Cheers AL Hi there,
I own a Philips 140cm rear projection TV model 55PP8620 at the bottom left hand corner of the screen it is starting to turn yellow. I rang Philips and they suggested it that the oil needs changing. I never heard of this before. I rang the service centre centre and they quoted 4 to 5 hundred dollors to fix. Does this sound right and if so I fix it myself?
I just had my convergence fixed and now I am having problems getting the right colors matched up from the panel inside the tv. You know where the RGB and focus settings are? Is there an easier way of adjusting this? I have spent hours on this and still always have blue grass or green hair, any suggestions? Thanks alot! And buying a Plasma is out of the question right now unfortunately. Thanks.

Inside of the tube assembly, there is a cooling liquid. This could be a job to change, and then re-adjust everything. It is also possible that on top of this, there are problems with the convergence and bias control circuits.
Typical repairs can run in the area of about $400 to about $800 depending on the amount of work and type of parts required.
Personaly, I would go out and get a good Plasma or LCD TV at this point!
