Anyone? Can you help me? Please? I really wanted the mic to work for a game I installed. I unplugged the mic from another computer and plugged the mic I unplugged to the computer beside the computer where I unplugged the mic. I need it for my game of Nintendogs that I downloaded from the computer. Or maybe I should download another rom instead that doesn't need a mic....hmmm.....Anyone? Please help me...I'm begging you! (I'm younger than you thought you know)

I plugged my mic into my new (Dell with Windows Vista) computer the way the instructions on the computer said to, but no sound. The computer diagnostics say that it is working fine, but it doesn't record, or even indicate that it is picking up sound. Help! I need it for several apps I have, including a couple of chat programs.

1. Try the microphone on another USB port and check.
2. If not OK, try the microphone on another computer and check.
3. If OK on another computer, re-install it or recover the O.S. from a backup.
4. If on another computer the same problem exists, the microphone could have a internal control defect.

I have a dynex dest mic and it is not working

See if your computer is setup correctly to use it. go to my computer ---control panel ---sound.
Also check the volume control and make sure the mic is'nt muted. If this is a USB mic drivers
may need to be installed for it. Check the device manager and see if there is any problems
under my computer ---- view system information ---- Hardware -- device manager. If this is an
analog mic make sure its plugged into the soundcard correctly. If using front plugs on the computer
make sure the soundcard is set to use front mic.

I plucked it in my computer, installed it, and all

Your Rode NT1-A mic is a very good microphone, specially for vocal recordings, but as most of the proffesional microphones needs a power supply. To be more spesific when you use your NT1-A with an audio console or a mixer, the microphone preamplifier provide at the mocrophone 48Volts for it to work. In order to use NT1-A with the computer you can:
  1. either you have to connect the mic with a mixer or a console and the audio output (line out) from the console to your computer's line in.
  2. or you have to buy a "phantom power supply for microphones" in order to use this one between your pc and the NT1-A. In that case you will connect at the mic in of the computer.
Personally I suggest the first solution since the pc's mic pre-amplifier in not as good as a deticated mic preamplifier from a mixer or a console. I have to notice that if your 're about to buy a mixer for that use remember to ask for one with phantom power supply for the mic (or mics).
In case of a clarificationdon't hesitate to post.

AKG Perception 200 Mic stopped working. I use it

The simple thing to check would be to see if your 48V phantom power switch on your mixer is turned on. Sometimes there is an individual button to turn it on and off for each channel strip. Good Luck

Sony ecm 719 doesn't aseem to be working properly

Hi kollydogg

The mic you purchased is a condenser type that requires either a battery(you now have), or a sony power supply. Without it, I would expect it to not do much at all. The specs look ok on it. Good for bootlegging concerts :)

No Sound Coming out my Microphone

i know this might sound a little obvious and maybe irrelevant to the problem, but did you press the switch on the mic? it will turn the mic on and off. make sure sound and mic are unmuted in windows volume control. if both are these didnt solve the problem, test the mic on another computer. if the mic works, maybe its not the mic that has the problem. if the mic doesnt work, then your mic may be defective or damaged in some way or other.

For Vista 32 bit. Go to the driver manager. De-instal/delete the driver in the Sound, Video and Game section. In my case it was RealTek High Def Audio ver 6.0.1.5371. (Select Delete the driver files.) Reboot. Vista will reinstall a driver. In my case it was Microsoft High Def audio ver 6.0.6000.16386. I had the mic plugged in when I rebooted to load the new driver. The Cyber Acoustics ML-1060 now works fine. Hope this helps.

Can not find cd to install mic

Microphones do not require software or drivers to operate. First, double click on the volume icon located in the system tray. If you do not see the volume control for Mic, then you will need to make it show up by going to Options --> Properties --> Check the box labeled Microphone --> Click Ok. You should now be able to see the volume control for the Mic. Make sure that this is not muted and the sound is turned up. Second, you must have a sound card installed in your computer that supports microphones. Please check with your cards manufacturer or PC manufacturer to make sure.
