Samsung S850 Digital Camera failing to start up and switch on. Blue light flashes but nothing happens. Also, lens is stuck out and won't go back in.

Hi, this happened to my Samsung ST500, it took me months to find out what was wrong with it!, i found out the it gets stuck when the lens is different or has dirt in the lens.

• I Got Mine working by cleaning the lens but if that dosnt work try this, mine started working when i dropped my camera quite high onto the ground which can make your lens pop back in if this dosnt work, try your warranty!:)

I have a samsung digital camera digimax cyber 530 - just replaced batteries and camera wont start, i get 3 flashes from the green light screen nw comes on then goes off & the lens wont retrack back in the camera

somehow the autofocus mechanism seems to be stuck.
if you are up to it, take it appart and investigate.

I had the same problem, Turn it on and wiggle the lens and it will become unstuck. Well thats what my problem was and that what fixed it. Good luck

Try to pull the lens back into the right socket. If that won't work, a new camera lens part is needed.

Motor stalled - if newish try returning it for replacement
If not so new - replace it
Repair is not an option.

cameras beep when it has a problem. most likely the lens get stuck or lens gear failed or motor drive gear to lens, or allot of other problems like it doesnt reconize the optical sensor.

look online for the beep codes and problems.

Plug it into the charger, then remove the battery. Disconnect is and then insert the battery/ That may reset it.

This also sometimes happens when a camera is dropped and the lens assembly is tweaked just a bit. Point it to your face and turn it on. Press on different places on the lens assembly while you toggle it off and on. If it comes out, your lens unit is out of line. You can try moving it side to side and even forcing it a little but it will probably never be just right.
