Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Web Camera
I tried to install the software for the webcam..it comes back with a "set up cannot continue b/c an unexpected error has occured. Any ideas..microsoft was no help really...I had this installed on this computer a few months ago, but computer crashed so wiped hard drive and did a clean install of XP media center edition....Not sure why it wont work now?
Is XP Media Center what you had installed previously when the cam was working? If so, are you using the correct and latest driver from the manufacturer for said operating system?, That being also said, are your video and audio drivers up to date for the operating system?? Those will be the primary concerns, however remember that a corrupt download or one that became corrupted as a result of the hard drive crash could be the real issue. So in other words, start from scratch and check everything you do.
