Actually I did that. I took the battery out and let it sit awhile. Then I plugged in the AC adapter without the battery in But it still won't turn on! Then I tried putting the battery back in and the same problem is still there, no power. I bought a new AC adapter and it hasn't made a difference.

You may need a new battery, they dont last verry long. I get every thing on ebay my self and save a lot of money. The battery needs to hold a charge.

My ASUS P4T533-C won't turn on

This is really a common problem with computers these days. It may be caused by a number of reasons like a faulty charging system, faulty battery or anything burned out on the computer's system board. But in this scenario, i would suggest the following
1. Remove the battery and connect the laptop with the AC adapter only and see if it will respond.
2. Remove the AC and re-connect the battery and try to turn it on
3. If the above two do not work, then consider changing the AC adapter for your laptop. You can try to use a different AC adapter that has the same rating as your laptop's. The problem might be with the Charger.
4. But if all this does'nt work, consider getting a Computer Technician who can open up your computer and check the circuit board, there might be a problem with one of the chips

Compac d-530 won't start red light under power button flashing

Take out the battery and only hook up the AC Adapter. Try turning on your laptop and if you still only get a flashing power button then try another AC Adapter. If the same thing happens then that means the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

Inspiron 2305 power cord doesn't turn the desktop on

After connecting the AC adapter to a wall outlet and to the computer press the power button the right side of the inspiron. The button itself should then lite up white if the power adapter is good. If not, check the power outlet you are using. Plug in something else and see if it works on this wall outlet. Some outlets are connected to a wall switch. If its still a nogo you may need to replace the AC adapter.

My inspiron one 2305 won't power on. The light on the adapter cuts off soon as i plug it in. It work fine the last time i shut it down.

Welcome to Fixya
This sound like a hardware problem not much to do to try and fix this issue but you can try this.
Remove the ac adapter and battery. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds. By doing this we are draining the flea power of the laptop. Residue power sometimes causes a no power issue. If this does not fix the problem then you would have to get the laptop serviced.

Hope this helps

No Power Issues on Laptops

There are 3 things to consider in order for you to determine a No Power Issue

1. Battery
2. Mother Board
3. AC Adapter

1. Remove the battery from the laptop

2. Disconnect all non essential cables (external hard drive, usb memory key, printer...etc.)just connect the AC Adapter

3. Take out the Battery....Usually there is a battery indicator that you can push at the back of the battery

4. By Now the battery power indicator should be full since it was never taken out

5. If still theres no light on the battery.... replace battery

6. Turn the laptop on without the battery

7. If the computer still did not turned on check the AC Adapter if there is light coming out

8. If there's no light that comes out from the AC Adapter. Reseat the cable from the AC Adapter to the Cord

I took the battery out then put it back in and now my laptop won't turn back on. How can I turn it back on?

Try unplug the power cord and remove the battery then hold the power button for 30secs. Plug the AC adapter back and see if you can power it back on. Assuming your ac adapter is not dead.

Laptop won't turn on when I press the power button

Hold down the power button for ten seconds, then repress the power button- if it comes on, your system was locked in hibernate- if it does not- then check and see if the AC adapter has lights. If it does not, verify that it is mounted correctly (most have a plug in) and see if it lights up. If not, you have a bad ac adapter, and your battery likely fully discharged. If your AC adapter has lights, then you may want to contact your laptop's technical support if it is in warranty- it is experiencing No Power, No Post

Acer laptop shut of during power outage .

From the Acer website:

Notebook
Issue
Power Issues or Will not Boot
Solution
If the notebook does not power on:

Make sure the ac adapter is correctly plugged into the notebook and into the power cord.

If everything is plugged in correctly and it still will not power on, follow these steps to complete a ‘power reset' of the notebook.
  1. Unplug the ac adapter. Keep ac adapter unplugged.
  2. Remove the battery and keep the battery unplugged.
  3. Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds. (Nothing will appear on the display and none of the lights will light up.)
  4. Release the power button and plug in the ac adapter ONLY. (Please note that a power indicator light should be lit on the ac adapter when it is plugged in).
  5. Normally power on the notebook.
  6. If the unit does not power on, remove the ac adapter and insert the battery into the system.
  7. Plug the ac adapter back into the system, the battery charging indicator light will light up.
If the battery charging indicator light does not light up, the ac adapter may not be providing proper power to the unit, and may need to be replaced.
Also, depending on whether your power went down "clean" (quick and stayed off), or went down and quickly came back on and off many times. Or when it came back on "clean" (came back on quick and stayed on), or it came on then off many times, your power supply may have been damaged from the power surges Are you having any problems with any other appliances?
