Hey there My name is Chirag and I'm from sydney. So here's the thing. I have an acer Aspire 1644WLMi and it has an Intel Grapics Media Accelerator 900. I'm guessing this is really low, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Recently, I've been getting an urge to play some games and unfortunately they all have specifications which are higher than what my graphic card supports. I was wonderng IF I could upgrade my graphic card? If YES, which good quality and reasonable budget graphic card would you recommend, brand and size? Thanks heaps. Cheers.

One of the best ones is the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 3650. The best NVIDIA one there is the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT. But the ATi GPU is better.
You will probably need to get a new card fitted by Acer or a named specialist.
This issue could be 1 of 3 issues or a multiple of each, 1. Damage to the screen itself 2. Damage to the cable that connects the screen to the grapics card 3. Damage to the graphics card
I am not personaly familier with the Aspire One, but Acer usally put VGA or HDMI or both connectors on there laptops if you have one or both of these connections connect your Aspire to an external display, this will check the grapics card, if there are no problems with the external display the good news is your grapics card is fine, however if not there is a good chance it is the grapics card and that requires the motherboard being replaced,
If the external screen is fine, open your laptop (if you do not feel confident doing this get someone who is to check) if the cable that conects the screen to the motherboard is frayed or snapped then that is the problem if not there is a high chance it is the screen but could be un seeable damage to the cable, since cables are cheeper than screens i would suggest replaceing that first as this is usally the issue any way.
i think you can, but this laptop has great integrated graphic card, it use Integrated Intel® HD Graphics or Discrete ATI Radeon™ HD 5650 graphics or Discrete ATI Radeon™ HD 5470 graphics
this graphic card can make great picture for HD video

As this chip has no dedicated video memory it will be dependent on how much RAM you have installed in your notebook. Maximum amount it can share from system memory is 384MB. It will probably be capable of rendering the scene but depending on the complexity of your scene it could take a while. Well, i took a look whaats on your Acer, you definetly need to upgrade your graphic card, and u need a lot more memory.
The graphic card u need is an APG 8X card, make sure that the new graphic card is a fast one coz your processor is a sempon, its like an intel celeron, not realy made for games.
The momory you have is 512mb, you have 2 slots and you can max have 2gb, i sugest you buy 2x1gb sticks, the memorytype is 184 Pin DIMMs 400MHz.
