You need to check ampere of the units and make sure your not putting to much on one circuit. you take the load side of the thermostat and attach to the other heater.

Hello. The red and the black are the hot wires. Therefore, connect one of your conductors to the red and the other conductor to the black. Use wirenuts. The bare ground wire should be solidly attached to the new unit's green wire using a wire nut.

How do I know if I have 240v when replacing old baseboard heaters

When you turned off the power to the heaters was the breakers a double (2 pole ) one? If so, then yes, it defintely is 240v. There are very few 110v baseboard heaters out there anyway. The best way to check is to have an electric meter and check it out for sure. Actually if you are working on electrical circuits and you do not have an electric meter to check if you have them shut down for sure, you are on dangerous ground. Always be safe and check before working on any circuit.

No i didn't. I need instructions for wiring a

you have baclk and red wire supply and a black and red wire to load (baseboard).
your switch will have 2 black and 2 red.
connect blk supply to 1 black on switch ( it doesn't matter which one)
connect red supply to 1 red on switch
then
connect black from baseboard to black switch
connect red from baseboard to red switch
if multiple baseboards that have several loads at thermostat then just connect baseboard blacks together and reds together before connecting at switch.

If you take thermostrat back off and connect the wires together will baseboard heater get hot. If not you may have bad heater. If it gets hot your new tstat may be bad. The way you have it wired is correct. Most line voltage tstats have a ground screw. Your 's may not but will work without one .
