Question about Sony VPL-HS51A / VPL-HS60 Multimedia Projector
I have about 900 hours on this Sony VPL-HS60, lately the whole picture just becomes a little dimmer then swiches back to the correct brightness, it seems like this happens when the projector is on for a while (after an hour or so). Does the lamp need to change? anybody has any ideas?
This is quite a sticky one as this could either be the lamp or the Ballast ( lamp's powersupply )
And the bad thing is that the only way to be certain , would be to first replace the lamp and if this continues the Ballast as well.
I would suggest you to replace the lamp first , as this is never a waste , you could always keep it as a spare and 99% of the time it is the lamp will give this kind of problem.
Good luck and thanks for using Fixya !
