Its just a regular fuse some models have F231 instead of FL231 it should be just to the upper right side of the flyback.

So what's a flyback or convergence option ??. Heck, even a stick-figure Diagram might do the trick. It's nice 2 have folks like ya'll sittin' 'round helpin' each-other out

The flyback is the large transformer that has the thick red wire coming out of it. The solder has a tendency to crack slightly which causes the FL231 Fuse to blow ( just to the right of the flyback) When the FL231 fuse blows the convergence option will disappear from the setup menu and the set will appear 3d with an arced picture. I am attaching a pic that shows the Flyback with a white circle, The FL231 is the yellow circled item next to the flyback11_1_2012_11_47_00_pm.jpg

My mom has a RCA HD61W66 and the picture was showing red, blue and green "lines and shadows" as if the picture was warped. It has now stopped showing a picture at all but the power is working....

The flyback transformer has solder cracks around the pins and most likely blown the FL231 Micro fuse to the right of the flyback.I would inspect the flybacks solder. The FL231 and the CL230 and DL231 should also be replaced ( near the flyback) You can get the ITC222 Convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com under the RCA repair kits. The kit contains the parts and the CD with repair instructions

Convergency has gone out of sync, went to try to realign but the convergeny setting was not listed in the tools menu.

Thats usually caused by a blown FL231 Fuse and a blown DL231 diode that blow when the flyback transformer develops solder cracks around the pins. The repair is to first resolder the flyback then replace the FL231 fuse and DL231 diode. You can get the RCA / GE convergence option missing repair kit which has the parts and repair instructions from www.tvrepairworld.com

Replaced the fl231 fuse tv worked for day now blown again and tv keeps shutting off what do i check now

Resolder the flyback pins as thats what causes the FL231 fuse to blow. Soldering the flyback should solve the issue you may need to replace the fl231 again

Convergience not working, three color pictures and concaved top and bottom. Is there a module that I can replace?

Check the small brown fuse FL231 located just to the lower right of the flyback. There are 3 small brown fuses. The middle one is FL231. Most likely it is blown. The reason it blows is because of the lead free solder used on the new boards. If you turn the board over you will probably find cracked solder joints on the flyback terminals. Re-solder all of the flyback terminals and replace the fuse if it is blown. This fuse tells the TV that it is a rear frojection TV and not a standard CRT

My convergence keep going out, I replaced the convergence twice. I have a rca hd52w59 modle

When you say replaced the convergence twice, are you refering to the convergence boards or the FL231 fuse? If its the FL231 fuse unless you replaced the DL231 and CL230 plus reflowed the solder on the flyback it will continue to keep blowing untill the 3 parts are replaced together and the flyback gets resoldered. If you replaced the convergence boards then try resoldering the flyback.

heres where they are located but you have to resolder the flyback and vertical IC also.
Look at the flyback ( with the Large red wire) Just to the right of the flyback you will see three small brown Fuses the cehter one is FL231 DL231 is just to the right of FL231 and Cl230 is just below and alittle to the right of DL231

R52wh74 already changed 231 fuse still not converging

Did you change DL231 and CL230 with the fl231? Also did you reflow the solder on the flyback and vertical IC? Bad solder is what blows the FL231, but without changin DL231 and CL230 and resoldering the flyback and vertical the fix wont be fully effective.

Convergence

Go into menu look on setup see if convergence comes up then do auto converg. if you do not see convergence on menu then you have an open fuse FL231 square brown cap next to flyback.

RCA 52w59 projection fuse fl231

Instead of taking the board out, I just soldered two wires to the old fl231 fuse on the underside. Installed a fuse holder with a half amp fuse. And I re-soldered all of the flyback points. My tv is working like new. thanks for everyone's help.
