The thermal fuse is usually located near the lamp to prevent the lamp overhaeting and damaging the set. Sony uses two types of thermal fuses: the first type is a circular metal type, about the size of a quarter with two metal tabs for push on lugs that connect to the TV. The second type is a small plastic half moon type woth wires coming from the base. Contrary to what you might read elsewhere on this site, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you mount the new fuse where the old one was, for safety reasons.

Blown fuse

There is a thermal fuse in the circuit between the dryer drive motor, and the dryer timer motor (control). It's physically located near the blower assembly. Whirlpool 33001762 Thermal Fuse AppliancePartsPros com There is a picture of it at this link. That's the only "fuse" I could find in the parts manual I have for the MLG2000AWW.

THERMAL FUSE replacement

hi,

You will need to remove the back to get at the lamp housing from the inside to see it, its a bit tricky as it involves removing some pieces to get at the fuse and maybe just lifting the light engine assembly.
To access the tremal fuse you hve to remove the following item.

1. Remove rear cover
2. Remove Sub-woofer speaker box (not needed for A20 models)
3. Remove metal backing plate.
4. Remove Exhaust fan
5. Remove Optical Block screws

6. Remove Open thermal fuse.
7. Install new Thermal Fuse
I have added a video wich will help you access the tremal fuse. Its a different model may be help you.

Also added picture of connector which gose to the thermal fuse.

Will not ignite, not even a click. Sounds like thermal fuse; how do you remove bottom panel and check it?

Hello,
To remove that panel use a putty knife placed in the seam about a inch or two in from the corners
between the main front panel and that lower panel and push in the clip that hold lower to upper panel once both clips released panel can be tilted down and removed

To check the Thermal fuse UNPLUG DRYER use multimeter set to lowest ohms setting, remove the wires off of thermal fuse and place meter leads on the 2 terminals..if thermal fuse is bad the meter display will be OL or if have meter with needle the needle will not swing
Their are 2 types of thermal fuses the pictures show what the 2 styles look like it will be one of those 2 types

Hi, Our dryer runs but doesn't heat. We checked the power source, heating element with ohm meter but it was fine. What else should we check? Thanks.

Hi.

If the dryer runs there is no problem with power. If the appliance runs but does not heat the problem is one of the thermal devices. The dryer comprises one thermal fuse, several thermostats and the element. Thermal fuse and thermostats must be checked along with the element.

Start from the thermal fuse. The fuse can be tested reading impedance with a multimeter. If the fuse is open it will read Ohms infinity. In that case replace the fuse. Here the part: ASSY-BRACKET (THERMOSTAT) (Thermal Fuse with Bracket).

The fuse is part n.15 in Diagram one below. Click on the picture to enlarge:

ginko_278.gif

If the fuse is OK, or if replacing the fuse did not help test the thermostats. You have the following parts:

THERMOSTAT - Part 11 in diagram

High Limit Thermostat -Part 13 in diagram

THERMISTOR - Part 27 in diagram

If the appliance is running the door switch should not be the problem. If you need test also the DOOR-SWITCH.

The thermostats can be tested reading impedance. If there is no heat, then one of the thermostats is open and will return Ohms infinity. Other way to test a thermostat is by jumping its contacts and running a controlled cycle to prevent overheating.

Regards.

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

Sony KDF E60A10 60 in. My TV starts up but then the green light switches red and blinks 6 times. No picture or sound. What is the issue

6 blinks mean a thermal fuse problem. This model had a problem with the thermal fuse that does not close once it is opened. This is caused by a blockage of the fan that cools the optical block, usually from accumulated household dust. This causes the TV to overheat. The thermal fuse detects this and puts the TV into protect to prevent further damage to the TV. To fix, the fans need to be cleaned and the thermal fuse needs to be replaced. The parts are not very expensive (around 20 dollars for the fuse) but it does usually takes a while to fix because the unit needs to be taken apart to have access to the fuse and optical block fan. The GT board might have been damaged for the excessive heat but most likely a new thermal fuse will fix the issue and clean fans will prevent it from happening from the future.

Kenmore electric dryer heats but does not dry the

Hi, Here are the obvious parts to check: Heater, High limit, Thermal fuse or thermostats...these are all generally located in the back but some models you access them from front. the most common cause is either heater or thermal fuse, I will include a picture of the thermal fuse. If you test these parts and find they all work you may be looking at a centrifiacal switch problem.

Here is a picture of the thermal fuse check this part first:

Please feel free to contact again if you have any other problems.

Hope this helps.

Replacing Thermal Fuse in Sony Grand Wega KDF-E55A20

The PROPER way to replace the thermal fuse is to remove the optical block first. There are at least two recessed screws holding the block in place. BE VERY CAREFUL removing the block as it is very easy to tear/rip wires when doing so. I cannot emphasize enough NOT TO JUST THROW THE NEW THERMAL FUSE INSIDE THE CABINET!!!! The thermal fuse is a safety device mounted near the lamp to prevent overheating. Those that choose to just let the fuse "sit out in the open air" are risking greater failures and the possibility of fire.
