I totally uninstalled the software included with the webcam. I use Windows Movie Maker (included in Windows XP).

Be sure that after you plug in the cam and open Windows Movie maker that you select "Capture from video device" on the left had side. Your camera should come up in a setup window. If you are using the built in camera mic, select that in "audio device" window.

If you are using a mic connected to your PC, that option should be there, also.

In either case, after choosing the audio device, be sure the input level slider to the left is set high enough to pick up your voice.

'Hope this helped. Good luck.

My Lifecam VX - 3000 lets me see and hear others but persons being called cannot see or hear me.

Its not your lifecam that is allowing you to see or hear the other person, it basically means that the other persons video and audio equipment is installed properly and yours is not, try downloading the latest version of the life cam software and see if it resolves this problem or if your lifecam software installed correctly there is an update feature run that and it will download a package called icweb.exe or something, install that...hope this helps..

Can not hear other person

that is a video web camera, to get audio you need a microphone. If you aren't sure that you have one you probablly don't. They are almost never included in desktops, and always almost always included in newer laptops.Any radio shack or computer store will have a selection. If you look in the device manager or in the conrtol panel you can find your devices. To get into the device manager hit the following Start, settings, control panel, system, device manager, hardware, there you will see a list of all your computer hardware, if it's not listed you don't have one

Ok, well sometime people might not know, but there computer could be on mute, if thats not th case, then try turning up ur volume, or try to connect the voulme on the AIM when you puul up there web cam. There a V for Video and A for Audio. Hit Audio on yours and see if that works.

When I try to connect for a video chat, I can see and hear the other person and they can hear me but all they see is a green screen with squigley lines on the top. Please help.

When you look at your self on the cam (in a preview window - maybe in the audio video setup of your application) can you see yourself just fine? If so your camera is working properly and the issue is most likely on their end.
