Question about Viking 37 in. VGSU161 Gas Cooktop
Just had a new 36 open burner gas range installed in new house.
When you turn on the burners you get a 8 to 12" yellow flames. it is a fire hazrd. Installer said that is way it is. That can't be right. There is no low at all without flames. What shoudl we do.
Sounds like your range is set up for the wrong kind of gas, or, in the case of LP, your installer failed to make the necessary adjustments once it was hooked up. First step is to insure that you have the proper range for type of gas you are using. If not, the orifices for all surface and oven burners will have to be changed out. That should be done by a qualified service technician.
