Question about Belkin (f6h375-usb) UPS System

1 Answer

Only my UPS goes down!

I have a Belkin 375VA UPS. It frequently loses power even though everything not connected to it remains up. I am running Vista but currently do not have the Belkin software running. I also do not have the UPS plugged into my machine via USB. I just have the unit plugged into the wall and my computer and 2 monitors plugged into it.

I have no idea how to tell if I have too much plugged into it. Could that be the problem? I have spoken with Belkin tech support twice. They have had me return the unit for replacement. I'm on #3.

Any suggestions?

115V x 8 amps = 920VA x .778 power factor = 717.76 watts Start up 50 watts = 667.76 watts You need a 1000VA UPS. The one you have is way too small.

That 375 UPS is good for answering machines, plus it does not have AVR technology. Your UPS power supply is 250Watts, and the monitor is at least 150 watts and the printer is another 200 watts....=600watts

So that 375VA ups x.778= 291.75 watts. That hardware of yours is killing your very very very cheap UPS. It is obvious that Tech support has no application engineering support. Well I did all the work for them.

I suggest a 1000VA or a 1500VA for more time.

How do i connect my ups to my pc

Connect your PC power plug to the UPS, connect the UPS to the mains. Connect the usb lead from the UPS to your PC. Install the software on your PC. When you lose mains power the UPS will keep your PC alive long enough for an ordered shutdown.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

No power whatsoever. no lights. I have it plugged in and hit the reset button but nothing. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery nothing. Is it possible the thing is dead?

Depending on how old it is, it is possible. You might want to check on replacement battery for it. It may be cheaper to replace the whole unit, I don't know, i haven't priced one lately. If you do replace the battery, be careful or have someone do it who has done it before.

Belkin F6C1500 UPS will not run on batteries

I think your issue is that the unit is overloaded. Try this...unplug a couple of items to get the load lower...then pull the plug from the wall...did it keep those few units running while disconnected...if not then the unit could still be overloaded...unplug everything but a small electric radio...do the same thing to see if it will keep the radio playing. If this doesnt work, go by your nearest batteriesplus store and they can help. www.batteriesplus.com

Belkin Nimo wireless router internet drop outs

There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.
1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from walls and if possible locate the wireless router higher up.
2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? Ie. change the default password, setup encryption use WAP2 or WAP, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router.
3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, ard welders, washing machines etc. If so the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) .
4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize the interference with your wireless router from the wireless routers and access points in your area.

Suddenly everything lost power and the CPS1100AVR UPS unit started beeping and clicking while switching back-and-forth from 'powered' to 'battery'. Everything connected powered off, then on, then off,

Most UPS's will check the voltage of the battery periodically when the UPS is running and all is well with the AC power. If the test returns a "fail" on the voltage of the battery, many UPS's will start acting strange. It sounds like this may be the case with yours. The batteries can be changed by removing the access door on the bottom of the unit. A phillip screw holds it in.
