Question about JVC 580136 Camcorder

JVC GY-HD 110

I am having problem with my computer seeing my camera. It's JVC GY-HD110. The Tech at JVC advised me to get Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. I did. My computer still cannot see the camera. I call back the repair center guy said that I may have plugged the IEEE 1394 wire backward and I may have reverse the polarity and damaged the circuit board in Camcorder. He stated that that is common problem. I did not believe him. The connector can only go in one way. I was quick to say that this not a manufacturer defect. I said this will cost around $800.00 to replace the board. It seems that they may know about the problem and want the consumer to pay to replace the board. Even that, should that cost about $800.0?
Can you help solve this problem? AG

I have had a problem with this. The first time I was setting up the camera I too couldn't get the computer to detect the camera. The computer will detect it before any program can begin to use it. I was using the pinnacle moviebox. I find that I have to use the cord only one way out of the camera and use the same end connected to the camera everytime and the other end into the moviebox or hardline into your computer. Believe it or not, i have to press the end into the moviebox good and snug otherwise it will not detect it. I also use a filter on the cable to stop any potential interference and a good indicator next time which end belongs in the camera and which one back in the computer. Since I have done this, I haven't had any trouble.
I connect the camera via IEEE 1394 with a cable with gold connections (10 bucks at target), into the pinnacle moviebox and then backout to the computer with USB into USB 2.0 port on my pc. My PC is running XP Media Center.

How can I replace the LCD on a Sony DSC-TX20?

I often process the postproduction in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. But when I was to put Sony XAVC to it, I became astonished because I find XAVC is not compatible to Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 which is very wired. I don't understand why my AVCHD camcorder will output files which can not be edited in video editing software. I tired many converters and they all fail to handle the conversion of Sony XAVC to MOV. Finally, I find Aunsoft iMedia Converter for Mac which perfectly solve my problems.

JVC GY-HD110U won't turn on with battery power only AC power.

There is an issue with the a small yellow part of the AC plug breaking off in the camera. The camera thinks it's still plugged in, so it won't run on the battery. If you can get a small tool to fit into the inlet you can break the piece up and pull the parts out. I haven't had any luck with it, but read others doing it.

My JVC GY-HD111E isn't located in final cut pro

Are you using HDV, make sure you set the signal to DV on the camera. Does it have a signal out option to switch from video to dv / firewire? Have you checked to see if it is supported? Also just keep trying, turn camera on and off, restart the computer with firewire connected then without. I had this problem with a deck and it randomly started working after my 5th try.

Using .MOD Files In Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 solutions are flawed.

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

use their free converter, i've been using it ever since i needed to convert files for my picky nokia 770. personally i convert the .mod files into .avi, and .mp3 (since premiere doesn't recognize the audio as an .avi) its pretty straightforward on how to set it, it even comes with its own codecs

.MOD files in Adobe Premiere Pro C3

Adobe Premiere may not be able to recongize JPEG2 (the format the camcorder records in). In this case, you should use a software tool that can change the format of the video (i.e. from JPEG2 to a supported one). Before you do this, you should check Adobe for patches to support this format. Contact them about this problem and they should give you a better, more indepth solution then consulting JVC.
