It is very easy to determine weather if you need to do a convergence repair or just make an adjustment with your TV's original remote. Take a look at this youtube video...
Maybe the best way to adjust the screen is with the manual magic focus..instead of letting the tv do the auto change it to manual and see if you can adjust the convergence yourself. I have this same model and once in the manual adjustment you want to make sure you see all white lines....if you seen any blue or red that is the color that needs to be moved towards the white line closest.
Once you think you have it lined up nicely hit "exit" on your remote and option 1....
Your tv is crt-based and is out of convergence. In other words,
the settings for keeping the Red, Green and Blue images aligned have
drifted and must be reset. This is common with CRT projectors and
CRT rear projection tvs.
Refer to your owners manual for instructions on re-aligning it.
