Based on what you have stated your Dell monitor is dead. Seek support/replacement under warranty. If you purchase this with a credit card you have a double warranty through your credit card. You'll have to suffer through Dell's phone support to allow them to troubleshoot your dead monitor but be patient and a new or newer model will be on its way to you soon.

Take the 4 screws out of the stand and remove it. Remove the 2 screw in monitor cable plug bolts. Put a steel ruler or butter knife between the seam on the side of the monitor and prize open. This is tough but be sure not to insert your prying tool too far and dont start on a corner. Once a few clips have popped it will come apart easier.
