Question about Canon PowerShot S230 / IXUS 179 Digital Camera
Whenever i take a picture it wont show anything it flashes and everything but the digital picture is all black and when i reveiw it its still black...help me please :]

The same thing happened to me. Canon and others used CCD sensors from a well known maker and the CCD's were defective. They would come loose, especially in high temperature high humidity conditions. LOL-I live in Houston where it is always hot and humid. Take a look at this from Canon's website:
Canon will replace the defective CCD for free. Free shipping also. Have the camera charged up when you call the 800 number listed, they may have you reset the camera to see if that solves the problem. They will email all the necessary labels to send to their repair center.

I would assume the lcd light is just out. It happens all the time. The wire inside the camera connecting the light to the lcd screen will, for one reason or another, come loose. You need to take it to a repair shop.
