Please help!!! Thomson, the supposed "help center" for GE is useless!! They don't speak English and they just regurgitate what I have already read and done from the manual. My brand new GE phone has no instructions in the manual to set the 'day', only the hour and minute, yet I continue to get CL on the display. The manual says that CL indicates the 'day' setting has not been done. DUH!! There are no instructions to set it!!
I am so frustrated. Can you please tell me how to set the time/date stamp so that the dreaded CL will go away and my answering machine will work properly? Thanks so much. Doug

To set the time and date, start at the base unit. Then press the Flash/Program until Set Day appears on the display. Press the Review or Next button to select the day of the week. Then press Flash/Program again until SetTime appears in the display. Type in the time (hour (two digits) then minute (again two digits)) with the keypad number buttons. Then press Review or Next to select AM/PM. Press Flash/Program to store the information.
Please note that if you have Caller ID, the time and day transmitted with the caller ID information from your phone company will override the day and time you have set.
1. Press the mute/menu button until 1ENG 2FRA 3ESP shows in the display. 1ENG is the default. (ENG stands for English. FRA stands for French. ESP stands for Spanish.) 2. Use the CALLER ID-VOLUME (up or down) button or the touch-tone pad on the handset to enter your selection. 3. Press mute/menu again to save.

After the link, I also put extra information tabout this phone that helped me find the manual for you- it wasnt easy to find. OK, best of luck.
