Question about Refrigerators
I'm trying to remove the packaging material from my new Electrolux refrigerator. In the manual it tells you to grip the drawers firmly with both hands and lift. Well, that seems to work for the freezer drawer, but when I try it with the refrigerator the shelf, and any drawers above are also raised. It looks like the "lock" at the front of the drawer should be closing (or pushed together) to remove the drawer, but I can't do this. Is there any easy to solution to my problem?
Got it. My mother got one of these fridges and was frustrated with the drawers not sliding off to clean. It is designed to dissamble the complete drawer assembly. Start by removing the glass from the top of the chill zone drawer frame. Next grasp the white piece of plastic that the chill zone is written on and pull up. There are 4 pegs which affix the drawer assembly to the fridge. The front two pegs will pop out and then the rear will easily pull. The top drawer assembly must be removed before the bottom two drawer assemblies can be removed.
I also noticed the plastic pieces and tried to pinch them but I couldn't get them to budge. Once I saw the 4 pegs, it made sense.

Bill 541 is correct the whole assembly needs to be removed and cleaned as a unit. Removal is easy if you start at the top and work down removing the drawers one unit at a time. Be carefiul of the glass it's delicate. I brought the drawers (not the glass) outside soaped them up and hosed them off, much faster then trying to clean and rinse in the sink.

The user manual for the Electrolux side by side door refrigerator is worthless.
Has no instructions to how to take out the drawers to clean.
This is first and last Electrolux product we will ever buy.
The above instruction to start taking out the top glass and draw was very helpful.

Great suggestion from bill! It worked perfectly when I removed the glass insert, the whole drawer and frame came right out! Thank you!

Sometimes they are taped in. I don't think there was locks on drawers. sometimes there is styrofoam in between them.
