Once remove the USB cable from the computer and refresh the spooler by performing the below steps if you are using XP os.

Click start >> run >> services.msc >> locate print spooler in services widow >> right click on it and select refresh or restart.

Now open the printers and faxes window from control panel and right click on the C4200 printer icon and click on properties >> advanced tab >> enable print directly to printer and click OK.

Now connect the USB back to the computer and try to print.

If the issue still persists then download and run the print diagnostic utility from the HP website and run it.

Continusly red green lights on and no action

if the print dialog window indicates that there is a printer malfunction, check the printer for any possible paper jams, then check that the printer cartridges are inserted properly. close the dialog window, and press the blinking button on the printer.

if that doesn't work, restart printer: either press on/off button or unplug the printer. wait 15 seconds, then turn on/plug in the printer.

When you plug it in, (lexmark pro 205), there is a white light in the display box but no words or pictures and the on button does not light up. the only way to shut it off is by unpluging. It does...

Try to rebrick your printer. Pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds. This will give enough time for the printer to reset itself.

You may also try to plug the printer to a different known working power outlet in the wall to identify if it's a faulty power outlet issue.

If that doesn't help, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

@msat538,
I believe your printer problems are unrelated to your browser update. You likely have a few failed capacitors on your printer's logic board. I have a HP C6180 all in one printer that started displaying an ink system failure message. Eventually it powered off then on by iteslf every 15 seconds or so, making the printer unusable. Take the logic board cover off (on the C6180 is is on the right end of the printer), remove the logic board and look for failed capacitors (they will be puffed on the top (see image). If this is the case, you will have to have them replaced (easily done with a soldering pen). The replacement parts are inexpensive (less than $1.00) I hope this helps.

There is a paper jam

The solution depends on which type of printer and which model it is. Generally, you must open the access door/compartment and try to get the paper out. I had a bad paper jam last week and I had to open the access door (same access area you use to change out the ink cartridges) and do a lot of pulling and maneuvering. Don't force the paper too much or you might break the printer.

Don't junk it. Call Kodak support and they will send a new printhead. That should be all it takes. I have had my 5300 for just over a year, just replaced the printhead and it works like a charm!
