Go to the Xerox site - they have a very good series of explanations for fixing these problems. I had the same problem with my cyan imaging unit about 4 days ago and they solved it from the Xerox site.

Go to the Xerox.com support pages for the Phaser 7300 and find the one that says "Phaser 7300 Printer: Clean the imaging unit contacts" I found that the new Imaging unit I installed had the IU shoe inserted from the factory upside down. I re-seated the shoe and it worked fine. I also found another Imaging unit had no shoes at all. And I took the shoes off an older (used up) imaging unit, and put them onto the new one and it started to work perfectly.

The Xerox site says if you have a problem with these shoes, replace the imaging unit. That may be necessary in some cases, but I found that these little pieces of plastic could easily be swapped from other imaging units that were not currently in use. And save you a few hundred dollars on a new imaging unit.

Have a bizhub c550 printer and when printing a plain white document i get a yellow background, What could be the problem?

Sir/Mam, have you replaced the yellow image unit ? Not the yellow toner cartridge. There two seperate units. Also there are on each image unit blue/white nubs that you can pull out and push back in to clean interal image unit parts do that you do not have to pull the image units out just ensure that when done cleaning they are pushed all the way back in. Once the image units are not toner cartridge and there are four of them located below each toner cartridge .

Prints yellow all over paper after changing out yellow imiging unit

Try swapping out the yellow imaging unit with another color, such as cyan. Print out several test pages, if it continues to dump yellow toner then it is probably a bad developer. If it changes to cyan then it is a bad image unit. If you need another image unit the part# is 108R00581, you can buy a rebuilt one here to save you money. If you suspect it is a bad developer you may want to take your printer to get repaired because it is not an easy fix. Hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa!

Colored ink is smearing on the page when I print

Did you change the toner?Developer unit? When did it occured?

FIRST: the copier must be cleaned and vacumed, it may be that toner falls onto transfer section and that causes the problem, you may also have problem with yellow developing unit or drum or transfer cleaning blade.

Pls. rate

Yellow deposit

Remove the Yellow Drum unit, Check the drum for any toner. The drums should be clean and I believe a Green color. If you see any toner on the yellow unit replace the unit. Some models have a charge cleaner built into the image units, if that is the case with yours you will see a light blue knob on the front of the unit. Pull this knob in and out about 5 times to clean the units charger this may correct the problem without replacing the yellow image unit.

Phaser 7300 - one color fading on diagnostics page

Are you using third party toner? That is one thing that causes that problem. Use only xerox toner.
The other thing is that your image unit could have come defected, if it was brand new. Try changing the image unit and that should fix that problem. Good luck. 016-1993-00 image unit & toner 016-1977-00

I have two HP 2600N printers that print Yellow onto the whole page. Replaced Toner and it wont and worked for a short time and then got worse with the yellow on the page. One of the units says yellow toner...

Generally this is a toner cartridge issue. Are you using genuine toner cartridges or generic remanufactured? I have attended alot of repairs on this model when clients use generic cartridges. Usually a genuine cartridge fixes the problem.

Deteriorating image quality

Good Evening Robert,

The setting for non dell toner only controls the fuser temperature, and will not cause you any print quality issues. Toner is actually made up of ink and plastic. The fuser melts the plastic to "fuse" the image to the paper. Dell toner is set to "fuse" at a specific temperature. when you use non Dell toners, the temperature required to fuse may be different, and when set to non dell toner setting, the fuser temperature is raised to the maximum to ensure the other toner fuses properly. The down side to this is that you will wear out the fuser sooner then it should.

As far as the print quality issue you are having, it is most likey caused by the imaging drum.

Regardless of the estimated life for the imaging drum as stated by the printer, this is just an estimate. Many things can and will cause the imaging drum need replacing. ( Just yesterday I replaced a black toner in a 3115 that was less then a month old... genuine Dell... with more then 75% expected usage left because it was defective).

On this printer, each of the 3 colors and the black are all independent of each other with the exception of the imaging drum. Even within the imaging drum, cyan and black are independent of magenta and yellow on the first stage of transfer. When you have deteriorated print quality that effects more then one color, the first step is to replace the imaging drum.

The Primary transfer, secondary transfer, and tertiary transfer of the image are ALL contained within the imaging drum.

The chances of having 3 or 4 bad Developers is very very slim. If your print quality issue was related to only ONE color, then I would say you had a bad developer unit ( the 4 items located behind the imaging drum when removed). These are far more difficult and expensive to change.

The BTR ( bios transfer roller ) is the only other item that "could" effect your print quality, however, based on the symptoms you discribed, I doubt it. Besides, if i am not mistaken, the imaging drum kit comes with a new btr anyway.

Although I am sure you may be disappointed with the fact the drum unit is failing while showing it still has life remaining, the solution to replace it should restore your unit to full operation. The unit is light sensative, and effected by physical age as well as the number of prints it has supplied.

Please evaluate the solution i have provided and, rate the solution appropriately to show your support.

Thanks,
Cory

Xerox 6250dp

I had this problem when I used a generic toner. I installed a xerox cyan toner, then printed many sheets of a large blue rectangle. After about 15 pages the blue started to spread into the shape, after 30 pages the blue was back. Printing a lot of blue was necessary to get the new toner thru the system.
