Salutations chevyluva,

I hate to say your stuck between the proverbially rock and a hard place. Most mobile audio head units have the pass-code to deter theft, so there isn't really a way to deactivate it. The only other way to get the code would be to contact the manufacturer, but they may or may not provide it to you ....its that theft deterrent again.

Some manufacturers will actually provide the code with some type of proof of purchase, but again as this is a person to person sale, unless you were provided the original receipt.

We are back to that pesky theft deterrent.

Sorry we couldn't be of more help.

And press the numeric keypad 1 for few seconds. Hope its help.

Self checking

I have had a Panasonic DMR-E85 with this exact same problem you are describing. As I bought a Freeview Dual-tuner PVR I just bought a second-hand DMR-E55 as I liked the Panasonic interface. Two months down the line it is now exhibiting the exact same problems, except now as well as the continual self-check rebooting, it's also refusing to eject the disk. Booo. Time for me to buy a new DVD recorder again, and this time certainly not Panasonic... :(

Recorder keeps 'self checking' then taking dvd back to begining, although only on recordable dvd's, not rented. Are recorders worth repairing or are you better just buying another?

Bought dvd/vcr dual player with no remote in box

You should contact a service center and they should send you a remote control if you are in the 90day warranty.

Otherwise you could try a universal remote available anywhere.

Dual portable dvd player second screen not working

Sounds like it may be a bad linking cable or connection. Make sure you have cables inserted firmly and correctly. If possible, hook main unit to TV to be sure you are getting proper Video/Audio output.

Hi, I bought Bose 3 2 1 SERIES 11 Home system. but i cannot play wedding dvds on my system. All hollywood movies plays ok. I tried Verbatim DVD R & DVD-R there is no picture but the sound is there....

I would say that as with many manufacturers, the Bose 3-2-1 is meant to play Dual Layer DVDs. Since they hold data on 2 separate layers of the disc, these hold twice the amount of data than the Dvd+r or -r that you're using. When the Bose system tries to read the 2 layers and only finds one it, will not recognize the dvd. If you don't have a Dual-Layer burner and Dual Layer discs to burn to, you should upgrade your burning equipment. They're not that expensive these days. Cheers!

DVD Player

1) Reset the DVD player by unplugging it from the wall outlet for 20-30 seconds. Hold in the power button and replug the dvd/vcr while continuing to hold the power button for an additional 20 seconds.
2) If that fails, run a DVD cleaner (if possible)
3) If the above two methods fail, call Philips to get unit replaced.

Lightning could easily have caused such a problem. DVD players have a pretty low life expectancy nowadays, even from reputable manufacturers like Philips and RCA.
