The clip that holds the on/off buton in place has cracked. you will need to take that case apart which means removing several tiny screws (about 10) and removing the broken on/off button. you can drill a small hole (3/16") thru the case that will allow you to operate the on/off buttn by poking a pencil thru the hole. then reassemble the camera. this may be more trouble than the $40 dollars it would take to replace the camera. y could try to drill the hole without opening the camera and hope for the best. you will need to drill the hole at the bottom edge of the slash between the on and off printed bellow the power button (ON/OFF)........good luck

When i turn my camara it tell me.... please turn camara off and then on again.. so i do it and it tell me the same thing i dont know what to do or were to take it

Hi,

It seems your camera's Battery is not holding a charge, you need to replace it with another one.

Also this issue usually comes due to the lens getting stuck and is unable to come out, so please try charging your battery and check for any dust/foreign material stuck in the lens preventing it to come out properly.

If the problem still persists, take your camera to an authorised service centre.
Good luck

Dropped the camara,it turns on & everything works EXEPT capture button

Unfortunately, as you have found, the cost to repair these cameras is usually not viable, as it is cheaper to replace the camera.

Even if it is repaired, often the impact from being dropped can cause small fractures in boards or loosen the optics and while they may work ok now, can continually develop faults later.

My advice would be to replace the camera, as you will also get a new warranty as well.

Try another battery, it's possible current battery no longer viable or needs a deep discharge recharging.

Does anything happen when you press the snapshot button (not the video record button)? If not, you might have a defective camera.

Does your battery work with regular AA alkaline batteries ? They have higher voltage than NiMH rechargeable. I'm having a similar problem, just discovered today that my camera works fine with AA alkaline batteries.
