PSP games(ISOs) work fine for me. But when I try to start up an emulator (SNES), I get the "80020148" error.

I have custom firmware 3.80 M33-5, and I set it to 1.50 kernel in the recovery menu as well as disabling the UMD and everything in the "advanced" menu.

I also put everything in to the GAME150 folder.

    Any help here too?

Dear all psp users and technicians ^^

A week ago, i purchase my psp slim and lite 2006pb with a custom firmware 3.71 m33 pre-installed in my psp. Recently, i upgraded to 4.01 m33-2 custom firmware because of the availability of skype.
After upgrading, I have an error 80020148 when i try to start an ISO or CSO game. It happens randomly and sometimes, it will run properly.

After searching for a few tips. I reached to the recovery mode by holding R+power. From there, i selected run by m33 with no UMD and selected 1.50 kernel. But the error 80020148 still exist. Sometimes it show up the error.. sometime no. what should i do?

You need to have a UMD game in the psp to play the emulators and play ISO and CSO games as well.

So i recently bought this psp 2001, the version is 5.00m33-3 and the color is metallic blue. I can run certain games like monster hunter freedom unite and naruto ultimate ninja heroes 3, however , when...

well you are running a custom firmware and its probably having update issues if the custom side of the psp is outweighing the potential to run umd discs efficiently then just update the m33 out of the unit or download a firmware emulator for it i had to on my virgin firmware unit but even these get put out and never updated to run newer firmwares so its a shot in the dark for you but try it so google psp hacks and homebrews and there islots of sites with goodies you can use that custom firmware for even used for loading your iso games rite off the memory card instead of discs ok look around and you will be surprised what a custom psp can do:)

How to install emulator application on psp slim.

requirements:

a.emulator.
b.psp slim with cfw 3.71 m33 or higher.

steps:

1.source out an emulator in the internet e.g. psp-hacks.com (in this case, emulator chosen is NesterJ NES Emulator 1.11 RM).
2.go to psp-hacks.com main page, then click on PSP downloads, then click on Homebrews, then Emulators, then Nintendo, and finally click on NesterJ NES emulator 1.11 RM.
3.source the emulator.
4.for psp slim, you must use applications/emulators that are 3.XX fw otherwise,it will not run on the slim.1.50 fw is for fat psp's.
5.to know that it's 3.XX and therefore for slim use,an emulator or application has basically one main folder upon extraction via winrar to your desktop, unlike 1.50 that have two main folders (one of the folders has a percent sign on it usually).
6.many emulators and applications will also indicate whether they are for slim or fat use.
7.connect the pc to your psp through usb connection and go to the root of the memory stick.
8.now copy the NESTERJ_1_11_RM folder from your pc desktop to the GAME folder in your memory stick like this - F:\PSP\GAME.
9.at this point you can load a legally acquired rom game to your emulator by placing it on the ROM subfolder found inside the NESTERJ_1_11_RM folder.
10.disconnect usb connection, then go to the game submenu on your psp, click on the NesterJ emulator application you just installed to run it,choose and click on the ROM/ folder to load the rom and there you go.

They say my psp does not have m33. what is m33?

m33 is a custom firmware. With a custom firmware the psp is hacked and you can download games on the psp for free. But you would need to hack it to get m33

Error code on PSP

Your psp probably was hacked before and the idstorage was messed up. If you are luckly running on 1.5 firmware, you can run homebrew programs such as idstorage change and idstorage manager to fix the problem, then proceed to firmware update.
