You have a major failure on the motherboard. If it was your hard drive the system will boot up, but freeze on the main screen and you will hear clicking coming out of the hard drive. Red and Green flashing lights means there is a problem on the motherboard. Sometimes you can fix the problem by reflashing the Bios on the main motherboard.
This is called a System Error. It is about the same as the Xjunks ring of death. You need to call Sony if you haven't broken your seal yet.

remove the cartridges then, the press and hold all the available buttons on your printer where it could cause a machine resetting...
you could also remove the cartridges then wipe the circuitry of the cartridge... (the gold-like connector)
then turn off your printer without putting back the cartridges... (leave it turned off for 5 minuets)
turn your printer on then it should be ok
(post back if it doesn't work)

NOTE: Battery
operating time (the time the battery can hold a charge) decreases over
time. Depending on how often the battery is used and the conditions
under which it is used, you may need to purchase a new battery during
the life of your computer.
Check the battery status light —
If the battery status light flashes orange or is a steady orange the
battery charge is low or depleted. Connect the computer to an
electrical outlet.
If the battery status light flashes green and orange, the battery is
too hot to charge. Shut down the computer, disconnect the computer from
the electrical outlet, and then let the battery and computer cool to
room temperature.
If the battery status light rapidly flashes orange, the battery may be defective. Contact Dell _I found this on : http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latd820/en/ug/index.htm Hope this helps and good luck. if i "fixed ya" please rate me. thanks-jmattes

If the power button on the tower is flashing Amber, the fault is the power supply. Replace the power supply and they system should work.
If the power supply doesn't resolve then the 2nd most likely failure is the Front IO panel (Circuit card behind the power button)
