I have tried almost everything from using new wires, cleaning the playhead checking for loose wires ect.Discovered the problem about 3 weeks ago.Tried many things but so far no improvement.I noticed when play mode is selected sound is ok for 3to 4 seconds then distorts.

Sound problem only exists in Vcr mode .Out put from Dvd channel is ok .This would indicate
    external wiring is ok?

  • neumanngo2 May 20, 2008

If have tried cleaning tape, also opened the unit and tried head cleaner without positive results.

Try using a different set of cables. If that does not work, try an alternative input. For example, if you are using RCA plugs, try using Scart cable instead and see. If it works, it could indicate a fault with the RCA output board in your VCR.
Does this only happen in the VCR, or even when you watch regular TV?

Does this occur with all VCR cassettes? It could be specific to the cassette you were trying..

It looks like an internal audio problem with the VCR. You may want to get it serviced (or replaced if under warranty)..

What kind of connection are you running into this vcr? Have you tried a different vcr which would test to see if it is the cables or the vcr. How long have you had this and is there any reason that you know of that might have caused this, please get back to me on this.

you probably have a loose connection in the audio circuitry within the player. check for cracked connections and follow the audio from the input. This happens on all inputs correct? Antenna, dish, videotape, etc?

yes, external wiring would be ok, have you tried a cleaning tape in the machine at all, you can buy this at any basic electronics store or Best Buy, Circuit City, or even Walmart

If you have checked the speakers and wiring, the right channel has a audio driver or output problem, which explains the low volume, static, and distortion. A service technician will be required to fix the receiver so it will balance the left side.

if front left is working it is possible u have a dry solder on ur right channel line. try resoldering or if u want to know exactly where dry solder is, shake gently every right channel components and connections. if resoldering does not work it is possible u have a faulty ouput amp for ur right channel. if ur not sure about this i suggest u get it checked by a qualified tech.

Distorted sound

This is an automatic high end amp. Make sure you are using 8 ohm speakers. If the connections are correct, also use good quality speaker wire.

If this makes no difference, it seems that it would need to go to the repair shop.
