After uninstalling and installing the printer driver, to no avail, I called a mobile 'geek' service and they fixed it, for a fee. The original vendor "Future Shop" repair and service department gave the distinct impresson that this was something much below their dignity to take in for service, (thanks alot).

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Printing blank pages from email and internet pages

Hey, have you tried printing from a word document?

Sometimes the format of the internet page or document will not print effectively.
Also, have you used a cartridge which is recognised by the computer? Ensure you print a test page before doing any printing if you haven't already.

If you have put black and white in and are trying to print colour, it will come out as blank if there is no colour cartridge.
Anymore information you have is welcome and I can have a further look into it.

Thanks

A trough is formed by nailing together, edge to edge, two boards 11 ft. in length, so that the right section is aright triangle. If 15 gal. of water are poured into the trough and if the trough is held...

Find the vol of the water in cu/in
15 * 231 = 3465 cu/in
:
Change 11 ft: 11*12 = 132 inches
:
Find the triangular area of the end of the trough; 3465/132 = 26.25 sq/inches
:
Let x = width of the trough; A right triangle area = [img width="16" height="39" src="file:///C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.jpg" alt="1%2F2" v:shapes="Picture_x0020_1"> x^2 = 2(26.25)
x =[img width="53" height="22" src="file:///C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.jpg" alt="sqrt%2852.5%29" v:shapes="Picture_x0020_2"> x = 7.2457 inches the width of each board
Find the width of the trough which is the the hypotenuse
h =[img width="69" height="40" src="file:///C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image003.jpg" alt="sqrt%28x%5E2+%2B+x%5E2%29" v:shapes="Picture_x0020_5"> h =[img width="110" height="22" src="file:///C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image004.jpg" alt="sqrt%2852.5+%2B+52.5%29" v:shapes="Picture_x0020_6"> h =[img width="43" height="22" src="file:///C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image005.jpg" alt="sqrt%28105%29" v:shapes="Picture_x0020_7"> h = 10.247 inches wide, also the base of the triangle
:
Find the altitude of the triangle, which is the depth of the water; we know it's area[img width="16" height="39" src="file:///C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.jpg" alt="1%2F2" v:shapes="Picture_x0020_8"> 10.247d = 2(26.25)
10.247d = 52.5

Error 1606

Re: Please Help Unable to Install TIVO Desktop -- Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\

The response to "Echo %appadata%" should be
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming
A space in the user name shouldn't be a problem, but creating a new user may fix the problem because it will create the account with default registry settings which will hopefully have the missing %appdata% information.
If you want to check on this before creating the new user, just for curiosity's sake, check the following Registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders and check the value for AppData in the right hand pane. If it's missing, then that would explain the problem. It should be as listed above, substituting the UserName with the folder name for the user under Users.
Also check the key
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
The value of this key should be
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
More keys to check:
HKCU\Volatile Environement (1)
HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders (2)
HKU\Sxxxxx\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders (2)
HKU\Sxxxxx\Volatile Environement (1)
The values in (1) should have the full path spelled out, the values in (2) should use the %USERPROFILE% variable in the path. If the value under HKU\.DEFAULT is missing or bad, then creating a new user probably won't work either. If that value is missing, then I would recommend a clean reinstall of Windows because there is no telling what else is messed up also.

The value for AppData in the registry key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
is C:\Users\Murray Admin\AppData\Roaming
In the key the key
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
The value for AppData is %APPDATA%
The value for Local AppData is %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local

In HKCU\Volatile Environement (1)
The value for HOMEPATH is \Users\Murray Admin
In HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders (2)
The value for AppData is %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming (all the keys have the %USERPROFILE%\ )
In HKU\Sxxxxx\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders (2)
The value in one of the \Sxxxxx\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserShell Folders keys for AppData is

%APPDATA% (Missing the %USERPROFILE%\ ) --- Could this be the problem???
All the other values within do contain %USERPROFILE%\

Do you think editing the key, adding %USERPROFILE%\ would do the trick? If so, it would be alot eaiser then
a re-install. There is not much junk on it as this pc is only about a month and a half old. The other machine
is about six months old. Both are from the same manufacturer (Compaq) but different models.

Also - Using the set command the value returned for %APPDATA% are:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Users\Murray Admin>set
....
TEMP=C:\Users\MURRAY~1\AppData\Local\Temp
TMP=C:\Users\MURRAY~1\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\Murray Admin>

Upgrade for settlers downloads but won't run

I had this issue as well. Download the patch directly from the website, and run it locally. Afterwards the updater won't find a newer patch, and goes directly to the game. I don't know whether this will break again once a new patch is released, but you should be able to manually install it again at that time. Patches can be found at http://www.ubi.com/US/default.aspx under support --> patches.

This link may take you directly to the right place.
