There are buttons on the screen for setting the shape, the size, the position and many others settings. I suggest to get to factory defaults with these buttons and then try to make any adjustments. In case you have problem with these buttons post me back to locate them for you from the user manual.

I am having a similar problem. I've tried to use the buttons on the front of it to adjust it. But the width will not expand beyond 1/3 of the screen - so everything is terribly tall and skinny. I've tried a dozen or so combinations - but none of them seems to allow for a reset to factory defaults.

These buttons are for small corrections for the screen. Since you have missing 2/3 of the screen I suggest you to set your monitor's resolution and refresh rate one step down (at least). Click on start - settings - control panel - screen - settings (the resolution at this panel must NOT exceed 1024X768 for this specific screen) - for advanced users - screen - refresh rate (set it at 50 or 60 Hertz) and click apply - ok. Check the results. The problem must be gone.

Okay, that seemed to be helping. Esp the changing the refresh rate - unfortunately, I believe I have bigger problems. I looked up and saw smoke coming out of the monitor as I was working on it. So now it is cooling off on the fire escape. Next stop, dumpster.

I have a old CRT Proview monitor. It has developed a problem of exceeding display sidways, means the display from left and right side of screen goes beyond, I have adjust manually left and right to view...

Well, if the adjustment buttons don't work, then probably the control unit in the monitor is broken, or a key is stuck. If the control unit needs servicing, I doubt if it's feasible to have it repaired, given the fact that it's an old monitor and new or used nice slim LCD monitors can be purchased cheaply nowadays.

I have a new flat screen monitor, thats oblong in shape and my eyes are going nuts because its all stretched out and i want it square looking.how can i change it?

This is common with wide screens and the screen resolution needs to be adjusted to keep the correct aspect ratio.
.
My method, open MS Word - new document then Click on Insert - Picture - Autoshape and select a circle and place this shape in the document. Then if you wish to make the shape larger, then hold down the Shift key and drag the corner box to make the shape larger.
NOTE by holding down the Shift key, the circle will keep its shape and not distort.
Now Click on Control panel - Display - Settings and adjust the screen resolution and then view the Word doc with the circle, if it is not a perfect circle then, adjust the screen resolution again until you see a perfect circle. I suggest you start at the highest resolution that suits you and work down.

I cannot adjust my 15# inches suns star monitor to its default mode

Vista: hit the flag/start then control panel, make sure you see control panel home not classic view. Hit adjust screen resolution under Appearance and Personalization. Adjust the little arrow thing and click apply until it looks right. Mine is 1024 by 768 pixels. Mine is also a 15 inch so this setting should work for you.

XP: follow similar steps from vista names and views may be a little different but the command link is similar.

Proview 3200 Flatscreen with HDMI Problem

Maybe the input on the tv needs to be adjusted to work with the cable tv for example in the tv menu where you can adjust the sources for the inputs maybe it is set to something like RGB instead of HDMI. If you have a user manual consult it on how to change the input devices. Good luck.
