Where to find driver for HP Deskjet 6988 printer in Windows 7 ?

You'll find any available drivers for the HP Deskjet 6988 on the support page for the 6980 series printers: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-6980-printer-series/468002/model/3422864 .

The Windows 7 driver should be found by Windows Update when you connect the printer with a USB cable. If you are using the printer in a network, you need to manually add a printer (using the wizard) from the Printers and Devices Control Panel. Start this after you have the printer connected to your router or switch. See https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01796879 and expand the section for Wireless or Wired Connection (Windows 7, Vista).

I hope this helps.

I have an Acer 5321-1805 laptop and installed a Medalink version 3.0+ class2 dongle, but I can't print on my hp 6980 deskjet printer which also has a dongle installed. It pairs, but the printer driver...

Welcome to FixYa.

You have to configure the Bluetooth settings of the printer first. I assume that you have the HP bluetooth dongle on your printer.

Configure Bluetooth settings
You will need a USB cable to configure the Bluetooth settings
  • Connect a USB cable from your computer to the rear USB port on the printer.
  • Open the printer Toolbox.
  • Click the Configure Bluetooth Settings tab.
  • Configure the settings you want, and then click Apply

    Keep me posted.

HP Deskjet 6980 won't print. Says offline but i don't see how to turn it back online. was working. now not.

Printers often go off line for no reason. It can be genuinely off line or the pc is just not seeing the printer anymore To put it back on line all you need to do is open the print queue (double click on the printers icon in printers devices/ printer and faxes) go to File and in the drop down list it will say "Use printer Offline or Use printer online. click on it and if the pc is seeing the printer if will change and the printer will then start up and print. If this does not work then check your cable to the printer or your network connection to reestablish the connection.

Deskjet 6980 with wireless printing. can't get it to print wireless. shows offline

This is one of the common connectivity issues marring the benefits of having a wireless printer. In this situation your printer will not print when connected wirelessly but would need you to set it up with your system using a USB cable. Try resetting the IP of your system to what is mentioned in the printer and in case there is a router connecting your printer and system then use the IP address of router and put it in your system. This should help you fix this printer issue.

Disgusting breakdown or "Lost connection" of our brandnew Printer!

I bought a lexmark z1380 over the weekend.

I found that if you disconnect the usb momentarily for any reason the printer will immediately send out a jamming signal over usb regardless of whether on or off and the power button, (this jams whatever computer I plug the usb into after) only solution is pull power cord (or unplug) on the printer and replace whereupon it works ok then.
