Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

1 Answer

Tried the total erase disk and reinstall. The system does not boot and recycles startup.

I have tried both the repair and erase from the Toshiba system CDROM and I cannot get the system to startup in Windows XP. It just recycles and either gives me a checksum error or now a disk error 109xxx and stops. Do I need to replace the hard drive and what type should I get?

This solution was right on the mark and validated the fix that I had developed researching on various web sites.

Now that I have "erase hard disk" on my screen, should i 1)DELETE ALL DATA AND PARTITIONS FROM HARD DISK or 2)DELETE ALL PARTITIONS AND OVERWRITE ALL SECTORS ON THE HARD DISK ******* I want to RE

It depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to wipe the harddrive before selling, overwrite all partitions. This will cause everything on the drive to disappear. BE AWARE that with the correct software, that information is still there. If you are having problems booting, run startup repair. Refresh should fix corrupted files, system restore will return unit to new condition, all data lost in this case as well.

My toshiba laptop c580 was messing up so I tryed to refomat it but it was unsucsessful now when I try to boot it it's says no bootable device please insert bootable disc and press any key .. Is this...

Even though the reformat failed, the hard drive was still partially formatted, erasing the operating system (Windows 8). When you format a disk, you are effectively erasing the disk for use by certain software. At this point you will have to reinstall an operating system. To do this you will need to boot from operating system installation disc.
Here is a guide on how to reinstall Windows 8 yourself:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/clean-install

If you feel uncomfortable performing the installation yourself, I would recommend taking the laptop (and install disc, if you have one) to a computer repair technician. If you don't have an installation disc, your repair technician can acquire a copy for you, though this should cost extra.

Toshiba laptop restarting

The loop on your Toshiba Satellite laptop refers to the computer not booting properly.

During the loop, the computer will try to boot the Windows operating system and keep restarting over and over again.

This is not a hardware issue with your Toshiba Satellite A106.

The issue resides in the startup files on your computer's hard drive.

You can fix this by running a repair tool that comes with your Windows operating system.

This repair tool will fix your startup disk and allow you to get your computer back up and running.

Insert your Windows 7 installation disc into your computer's optical drive.

Start your computer and wait for it to boot from the install disc.

Choose your language from the menu and then click the "Next" button.

Click "Repair your computer" from the menu.

Choose the operating system you are using and then click the "Next" button.

Click on the "Disable Automatic Restart On System Failure" button to disable the startup loop.

Click the "Startup Repair" tool from the menu and wait for the computer to fix your startup disk.

Wait for the computer to finish repairing your startup disk and then allow it to restart automatically.

Wait for the computer to boot correctly to your login screen.

Hope this helps

Satillite C630 boots to say "Boot Manager is Missing". Tried to start with recovery disk but loaded first disk and then screen went blank

The startup of windows has been corrupted due to a virus or other operating system errors. You will need to reinstall the operating system and start from scratch.

Beware This Method ERASES everything on your computer.

Toshiba tecra M3 wont start. Upon startup it shows a black screen and says problem loading operating system

download form bootdisk.com "XP Boot" and burn to cd in an .iso (bootable) format.

boot from the cdrom (you may have to go into BIOS and look for a "boot priority" option to allow you to boot from cd, to acess BIOS, hit "escape" and then either "F1" or "F2" as soon as you turn it on). run fdisk /mbr from the XP Boot cd. with this tool, try to repair the mbr. if that does not work, you need to use this tool to erase the mbr and reinstall windows.

HELP ME

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME = the BIOS tries to load Windows and can't find it. Either the hard disk has died and must be replaced or Windows was completely corrupted by malware. In either case you must do a full reinstall and load a better antivirus,  and if it happens again you will know that the disk is dead, replace it.

Won't boot up , and don't have a bootable disk

Hello,

You are experiencing a total boot failure in loading your operating system due to some corrupted files then that is why you are not able to boot your operating system. Then i suggest that in order for you to boot up your Operating system you have to reinstall your operating or repair your operating system to have a fresh and ready to used new installed or repaired Operating system.

Thanks
