Bosch E:04 Im getting an E:04 message ALOT. I am currently trying to do loads with a lot less detergent and I also am not able to use hot water at all as it makes a very funny noise when it tries to pull hot water.

We have gotten the E:04 message periodically since the day we bought the washer! Seems to happen mostly when we wash towels. The only way we've seemed to avoid it is using very little soap. (We use high effeciency detergent for front loaders) Very frustrating.

I also was getting the E-04 error code. I had a new baby and was doing a lot of laundry at the time. After speaking with a rep way to many times and them continually telling me I was using too much detergent, which I was using none, I called a repair man and he graciously instructed me on how to check the drain area (the area behind that round plate). Sure enough, there was what once was a breast pad stuck in the drain. Funny how that had nothing to do with detergent. That man saved me a whole bunch of money and I am very grateful to him! Now I'm getting the E-02 error and will be checking all the hoses to make sure they are cleared and not kinked. I'm about to throw this Bosch out the window!

I have a Bosch and periodically get the E:04 as well, but I have figured out that usually it is when the washer has a few too many towels or whatever in it. I just turn the washer off, turn it on again, open it up and redistribute the load a little and then spin out the load as it usually happens after the rinse cycle. If it looks like the soap is still in it, I will just start over after redistributing the load a little.

The rubber seal at the front of the machine has gone mouldy. I have cleaned it before with bleach but the mould comes back all the time

Front loaders are known for building up mold and the smell.
It’s caused by using liquid detergent which is made from animal fat. Use powder. And use the minimum amount.
It’s caused by using fabric softener. Dilute it 50/50 with water.
It’s caused by the water remaining in the tub between washes. Leave the door open to allow it to dry. .

Bosch maxx classic washing machine doesn't clean clothes

There are a lot of things to consider when trying to solve this problem. Obviously a front loader washes differently than a top loader. Top loaders tend to using a washing motion that is good for stains but wear out your clothes fast. Front loaders typically use less water and wash more gently, but in some ways still do better than top loaders. Anyway, think about any other variables that go into the laundry equation. Consider the distance the machine is from your water heater. This machine will use MUCH less water to fill than your old one, and, you know how when you turn a faucet on hot it takes a minute for the hot water to actually get there? It's the same way with your machine. If there's a sink next your washer, you should always turn on the hot water on the faucet until it gets hot right before you start the machine. The same goes for dishwashers. If there's not a sink close you can easily turn up the temperature for all hot water on your water heater, although that will use more energy.
Consider what detergent you're using. If you're using high efficiency detergent (like Tide he) maybe you should switch to your old brand. If you're using your old brand of detergent, try getting a high efficiency detergent.

Leaks

The only time I've noticed a puddle on the floor was when I used too much HE detergent. No matter how big the load is, I only fill the cup to the very first line of the cup that comes with the detergent. It's no where near the max level on the detergent reservoir for the machine. Try using less detergent (way less) and see if that fixes the problem. My clothes still get squeaky clean!

Clothes too wet upon cycle completion...

Try reducing the amount of low sudsing detergent you are using. This can make the load too heavy and won't spin out. Remember suds have 3 parts, air, detergent, and water. The drain pump is designed for water, so if you see suds during the wash, it will be worst on warm and hot, then there is too much detergent, or is not low sudsing. I know Bosch reccommends HE, however HE liquids normally are not low sudsing, just High Engery. Also the Permanent Press cycles are always a lower spin speed. Hope this helps

Not draining

Clean out the lint draw and then run vinegar through a cycle.
If this doen't work try CLR. or/and put the drain hose to the lowest level and then put a flexible clear tube down to unblock it.
Use less detergent in the machine. I make my own detergent and I don't have any problems as one of the ingredients in it help keep all lines clear.
If that doesn't solve the problem contact Bosch directly.

Perhaps try opening the round panel on the front of the machine at the bottom and cleaning that hose...good luck because it might be messy.
