Good Day, LEE-M;
Try this :
White raster with no signal, washed out looking video with signal. Access the service menu, "menu 0357" use the audio button to select "video chroma" adjustments, use the video button to select item "40 - AGIW", use the adjust button to change the setting to 0, then press the enter button to store the change. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Overheating

Temperature is a common reason why many Rear-projection TVs do not perform well when they get to hot. You may start to see your TV shutting down automatically when it overheats. Here are a couple of things you can do to prevent overheating. First make certain any TV ventilation ports are free and clear of debris and dust. Second make sure the TV has enough room for airflow. Third, the temperature in the room should be around 72 degrees. Due to the high degree of heat generated by a rear-projection TVs, it is not advisable to watch TV on a hot days when you don't run the air condition. This could cause damage to your TV.

Configuration Problems

Improperly configuring TV setting can cause problems. Verify the TV settings are set correctly. First, brightness and contrast should not be set to high or to low because this can cause poor picture images. Second, adjust the color on the TV when the picture displays colors poorly. Third, if you are having sound issues then check to make sure the volume is not muted or turn down all the way.

CONTRAST ADJUSTMENT

it is best to shut the color level to the lowest setting then try t balance the screens to achieve the best black and white picture. then turn up your color level. Your brightness level should also be set to 50 % then when you adjust for the best B&W picture. You will have better color and brightness when you reset your color and brightness levels.

I am further looking into ur problem..

Goodluck..

Color real cartoony and low contrast value

I solved the problem by connecting a VCR to the TV and surfed the tv channels with the vcr remote, some how the new video input cables and the vcr solved this problem for me. I just set the tv on Video Input 1 and use the VCR. It wasn't as hard as I thought the problem was, just poor signal.

The picture is not very bright

Good Day;

If this is a rear projection you may need to clean the lenses and mirror and try adjusting the contrast. If it is a direct view your picture tube maybe going soft (bad). If it's a Phillips/ Magnavox change CRT coolant.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Having problem with getting the color and contrast right?

Good Day;
Turn your color down all the way, do you get a good Black and White picture with good black, white and grays? If not your picture tube may be going bad. It can be adjusted sometimes to get a 'better' picture.
If picture is a good B&W; adjust britness level: 50% > contast: > 90/95 % >color: 50%.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Projection defect

Good Day;
It sounds like you may need to re-adjust your G-2 controls, located at front, remove front panels. Look for small block with screen /focus controls on item, first turn color down, reset brightness, contrast controls. Adjust until lines are at min. and picture is a good black and white (grays). Good Luck, big IRISH.
