The steps for configuring keyboard drivers in Windows XP are different than in other operating systems. Use the following steps if you have already downloaded and installed the latest HP keyboard driver for Windows XP. Step 1: Configure Internet and shortcut buttons

  1. Click Start , and then Control Panel .
  2. Click Printers and Other Hardware and then Keyboard or click Keyboard if you are in Classic view. The Keyboard Properties window appears.
  3. Click the Buttons tab. You will see a list of Internet and shortcut buttons.
  4. Double-click the button you want to configure (such as, CONNECT or Internet).
  5. Configure the button to open a Web page or software. The figure and table below explain how to use each field in the Configuration window.
  6. After you have made your changes to the button's configuration, click OK .
  7. On the Keyboard Properties window, click Apply .
  8. Repeat the previous steps for each button you want to configure.
  9. After you have configured the buttons, click OK on the Keyboard Properties window.

Cant delete email in Outbox of Outlook express

Hi,

Stranger things have been known to happen to folks using Outlook Express, but I'm sure that's little comfort to you now. Here are some things you can try to remove the offending item from your inbox.
  • First, have you made sure that you are current with Windows Update patches and fixes? There are a bunch of nasty bugs in Outlook Express that can leave you open to attacks from specially formatted emails -- with or without attachments. Some viruses can be activated and spread to others just by viewing a message in the preview pane, but ONLY if you are using an old, unpatched version of Outlook.

  • Next, is your anti-virus protection up to date? If your service has expired, renew it ASAP. Or check with your ISP to see if they offer any free anti-virus software.

  • Try turning off the preview pane in Outlook (use View / Layout and UNcheck Show Preview Pane). Then right-click the offending message and select Delete.

  • Some users report success with pressing the Shift and Delete keys after highlighting the message. Note: This technique will delete the message without sending it to the Deleted Items folder.

  • Finally, it's possible that the undelete-able email does not contain any harmful content, but attempting to open it triggers a flaw in your anti-virus scanner. If you are certain that the email is a harmless message from a known person (and they are using anti-virus software), you could try suspending your anti-virus program, then attempt to delete the message.

  • Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

My son cannot get to his new email address

I am sorry but without more information I cant help you or him.
I need to know what kind of email address he has. Is it one of the cheapo free ones from google (gmail) yahoo or hotmail? Or is it a good old smtp email address that you would access from outlook express or windows email program?
windows xp and older used outlook express as a default email program. Vista and newer have a windows mail program somewhat inferior to the old outlook express.

Gmail, yahoo, and hotmail are all browser based and as long as you know your signin and password you can access it from any computer.

avgxch32.dll is an AVG anti virus dll. You will need to upgrade AVG to the most current version or change it out for another Anti-Virus program.
If you have the most current version, uninstall it and reinstall a new copy.

Can not program buttons on emachine keyboard

Use anvir free or somesuch to identify what's running in the background listening for those out-of-ordinary keystrokes and mapping them to programs, and download the updated version of that, or just go to VersionTracker.com and pick a multimedia key mapping program that's free and isn't rated horribly.
Who doesn't leave e-mail and browsers open, anyhow?

I am trying to switch from web mail to outlook express. I called my isp (roadrunner.com)and used their services, then they referred me to you.

    Hi!

Rather than trying to walk you through every step here, I've located a tutorial for how to set up your email in Outlook. Outlook's email setup is very similar to Outlook Express's setup. The easiest thing to do is to use the email setup wizard under tools/email accounts in OE. Basically, the key things are to make sure that you enter your email address and PW correctly (the PW is case sensitive), then enter the correct settings for your POP and SMTP email servers. The article points out the correct names, but be sure to use the right RR region (like KC.RR.Com if you're in Kansas City).

Make sure you click on the plus sign next to

default.aspx?assetid=za790050001033Add your Time Warner Cable Road Runner e-mail account

to be able to see the entire text section. If you get confused on anything, post back here.

Good luck and please let me know if this helps!

Just purchased the labtec wireless keyboard.Love it! But one thing i can't figure out. The buttons across the top, they all work perfect except the e-mail button. Nothing happens when i push it. Am i doing...

That was what I was asking.
Most of the time, the email key on keyboards is programed to open Outlook (which is part of MS Office).
Being that Hotmail is an online email program, it really doesn't know "how to get there from here".
You can try reprogramming that key to go to the Hotmail login.
You will find the steps in the control panel of the keyboard (if you loaded the software that came with the keyboard, it contains the links to how to do this).
It would be similar to telling it to go to a IE favorite, but in this case, it would go to www.hotmail.com

Now if you have Outlook on your computer, and you have configured Outlook to "reach into" Hotmail to retrieve your mail, here again, it's just a matter of programming that key to go to your version of Outlook.
