I have a Laars Lite 2 heater. Pilot is on, but nothing happens when the toggle switch is flipped to "on". I've taken the filter out and cleaned that. Also, I have turned the tempature switch from "min" to "max", and everywhere in between.

Just hooked up a used Laars Lite 2 lg 175000. Was stored in a garage for 3 years. Pilot on no but will not ignite. The installer reduced the piping to 1/2 inch, stated as it was only 5 feet from meter it would not matter. Also in the manual regarding spring start up it states that oil should be poured into tube that attaches to pressure switch. Is this necessary?

You can light the pilot with a B.B.Q. lighter.

Nottoohandy. Backwash you filter, make sure it's really clean. If that doesn't work it could be the pressure switch. You can by-pass the switch with a piece of wire to see if it fires up. If it does, it's the switch. There is a picture of the switch in the manual.
