RCA VCR

I have had RCA's in the past and whenever we lose power in the house, if I don't get to the power control in a few minutes, my vcrs will not work for at least 12 or more hours. Now, a friend has asked me to bring my vcr to her house because she no longer has a machine. It's a 45 minute ride - do you think my machine will operate once I hook it up?
