My Acer aspire one has a black screen with whit blinking cursor ..I can only get into setup when I press f2. F8. Doesn't work N

Yakira,

Sorry you are seeing this on your PC. It can be frustrating.
What you are seeing is a failure for the system to locate a bootable device or boot files on your hard drive.
You will have to take this PC to a local Computer Repair Shop or IT Technician you trust so that they can assess if the files (Data) needs to be recovered from the drive before the system is recovered or reloaded with the licensed version of Windows again.

I hope this helps.

How do I get a evga gt 610 2gb graphics card to work with my pc?

If you have a black screen with a blinking DOS/text-mode cursor, and you're sure you disabled the integrated graphics, the card is bad or your power supply is not delivering enough electricity on the 12v line to start up the graphics card BIOS.

To check if it's your power supply, simply disconnect your DVD and hard drive from power, and your video card will have enough 12v juice. (the GT610 needs more than half of the power on the 12v line that the stockPavilion P6-2330 can supply). If disconnecting your drives fixes your issue, you will need to buy a better power supply to use them at the same time. One with 15-20A on the 12v line is ideal, a good price is $50 or less.

If it still doesn't display anything besides a blinking text cursor when your drives aren't connected, try re-seating the graphics card and make sure all the pins are completely connected, if this doesn't solve your issue, the video card is most likely bad, just exchange it.

If you have a black screen with a mouse, your new card is probably being used as a 2nd desktop. To confirm, just connect your monitor to your integrated graphics; if you get a picture, just set your new card to be the primary desktop.

What's your problem? When I try to boot my Toshiba L455-S5975 all I can get is a black screen and a blinking cursor. What can I do to solve this problem?

Try turning on your laptop and then pressing the f8 key repeatedly, then you should be presented with a set of options, one of these should be safe mode, unless you are trying to factory reset, but anyway if that doesnt work you could try turning it on but pressing 0 (zero) instread of the f8 key

Sony vaio vgn-fw290

Did the Restore complete? If not try it again.

If the Restore completed and when you boot the machine all you are getting is a black screen with a blink cursor try the steps below:

Run the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc or a operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot from it. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with white letters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice the percentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run to completion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows. Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair when the options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recovery console and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

I have an acer laptop with vista home premium and recently the cursor has started to blink for some reason. It blinks regardless of what form it takes like if its loading or just a normal cursor and it...

As for the running slower on windows vista, you need to actually turn off all the graphics on vista and roll it back to the 2000 interface.

But first, however, try a system restore to when it worked properly. If that doesn't work, then if you have the windows vista cd, load that into the system (even if it is a recovery cd, and fix the boot record). Try this first, then, if it doesn't work, post a response.

Remote lights won't stop blinking!

Could have come out of sync you could try putting them in sync again or there could possible be something conflicting them.
