IBM Floppy Drive

Can't access A drive in Win98

Windows freezes(except for mouse)when an attempt is made
to access A drive from anywhere in Windows environment.

Works well in DOS.

No other software loaded, just OS.

Machine is an PII 400 IBM PC300PL w/64 mb RAM, A drive is
an IBM P/N 02K1130 if that helps.

Does the floppy drive work in a boot to Safe Mode?

Extract a new copy of "hsflop.pdr" from your Windows CD or from the CAB file location on your hard drive (usually C:\Windows\Options\Cabs, if it exists).  You can use System File Checker (SFC) to "Extract one file" to the Windows\System\iosubsys folder on your hard drive.
