This is easy to resolve, you need to reset your router back to factory default.Using the reset button on the rear of the router, press and hold button with power cord applied for 15 seconds, remove power cord for 15 seconds then replace power cord for additional 15 seconds without removing your finger from the button. This could take up to 30 seconds each time but remember to do the steps as outlined and when you are finished your router should be reset to factory . Factory user name is admin and password is password
The power supply is built in to the 'power cord'. On most consumer routers there is a transformer and rectifier built in to the wall plug. The cord that connects to the device carries low voltage DC current to the electronics inside the router case that has all of the other RJ-45 sockets, indicator lights and antennas.
Search ebay for your router and include the words power supply.
There is a reset button on the back of the router. Press and hold the button (it's recessed, probably near the power cord connector) for 30 seconds. This will reset the router back to factory settings. Go ahead and pull the power cord after you reset and let the router power cycle.

More than likely if you have set security to something special you will need to reset this.
Hold the reset button ( a small pin hole usually found on the back of the router near the power cord or on the bottom of the device. If you dont see one. If there is a power button hold that down) for more than 20 seconds until the router light goes flashing....
Reconnect to it http://192.168.2.1
It should be the default password. --> no password
You can measure the power cord voltage with a voltmeter. The specifications, and voltage output are on the transformer, or modem body. If you don't have a voltmeter, you can take the power supply into Best Buy, Radio Shack, or any computer shop, and they'll measure it for you. If the voltage is ok on the power supply, chances are you have a bad modem, in which case you'd be better off getting a new one. Hope this helps.
Is your monitor a CRT or LCD type. For CRT type information follows. In most cases your simptoms indicate a problem with the High Voltage or blanking circuits. Caution the High voltage can be as much as 40,000 volts and even unplugged from the wall the picture tube can continue to hold voltage (enough to hurt you). Do you here a snapping sound from the back of the crt. If you do the high voltage is shorting out and the protection circuit is turning off the high voltage. If you do not here sparking another possible cause is a faulty capacitor in the protection circuit or the flyback (high voltage transformer). Unless you are educated in electronic circuit repair this one is probable beyond your curren knowledge level. You can try taking the back off and cleaning out all the dust, but remember to stay away from the red wire that goes to the picture tube. Use only non metal cleaning tools. Good Luck
I have many D-Link router and printer server /wirless adapters in operation.
I love the product, but find periodically that the power cord/converter seems to not connect and the router/adapter goes dead. If I swap power cords, away it goes.
I have found that the plug end entering the adapter needs to be periodically cleaned (alcohol wipe works well & dried before reinsertion). I have tested all my power cord/converters when they don't seem to work and they all are functioning normally with proper voltage output. The connection is usually the issue.
chekc weather u r using the correct power cable>and do not use surge or power stripe>and unplug the power cord compleatelly and wait for 2 min>and connect it directly to the wall if its not works check with input and out put voltage if u r using it in out side USA u need to get a power convertor>and still does not works then replace it rate me solved if its help full
