Blue screen on start up

This may be related to faulty memory or your page file (virtual memory) may be damaged.

You can try to remove your ram chips one at a time (boot up) and see if one is bad or make sure your virtual member is set to system managed.

To change your VM settings follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Under Performance, click Settings.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Under Virtual Memory, click Change.
  6. Click No paging file. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  9. Click the Advanced tab.
  10. Under Performance, click Settings.
  11. Click the Advanced tab.
  12. Under Virtual Memory, click Change.
  13. Click System managed sized. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.

you might want to run a backup and reformat the computer, or you can use one of the following programs that does a really good job in fixing blue screens, I'm a computer tech and i use this program in alot of computers.

http://www.pcbugdoctor.com/ , its free to scan, but you should consider buying it, great program.

http://www.download.com/ , download "ccleaner" cleans and fix your registrys this software is freeware.

Blue screen w/msg: A promblem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Youre probably going have to restore it. By doing that if there is a hardware issure it should be obvious by the installation process.

Sometimes a video card can go bad and cause this to happen. If you have another card laying around the house you might want to swap them and see if thats the case.
