Iif its a Casio EV-7, it must beset to S-Mode or M-Mode and the speed must not be more than 4 seconds, cos antishake works only in this mode which means the lighting must not be too dim.

If you have set it to the correct mode and lighting condition is not too dim, then you got to perform one more step - to set the anti-shake to on.

" In Record Mode, press Menu button
On Rec tab, select anti shake "

You will be given 3 options, Auto, Camera shake, Image blur.
    Select Auto or Camera shake.

    2. In connection with this, you may wish to read about the test on anti-shake function for the camera at DP Review

The new firmware (I think your mention of firewire was an error) is available here: http://world.casio.com/qv/download/en/ex_v7_firmup/ just click on agree at the bottom of the screen and you will be taken to a page where you are to enter the serial number of the camera. Once you download the firmware you are to copy it to the root or either the camera's built in memory or a memory care either by using the camera's USB dock or a card reader. More instructions are probably included with the download, but it should simply install once you copy the file and restart the camera.

If the firmware update does not help your camera then there is most likely something wrong with the image stabilizing mechanism. This could be as simple as a stuck gear or misaligned guide so taking the camera appart might reveal the problem. If it's related to the electronics or mechanical parts then you may be better off purchasing a brand new camera if yours is not under warranty.

Is your model the Casio EX-V7? I will check to see if it is possible to update your camera's firmware.

Camera stabilizer is not available

check menu options is reasonable and first solutions. maybe is stabilizer turned off and you got the message. read the camera manual carefully, there is described how to turn on and turn off stabilizer. in manual, troubleshooting chapter has many solutions for camera and try to find one for stabilizer.
if all this can't help you go to service, something is wrong with camera software.

Camera stabiliser not available

Here is what I have found in Casio website: (http://faq.casio.com/faq/exilim/faq_type_b.php?PRODUCT=EXILIM%20EX-V7&CATEGORY=REC%20Mode%2FRecording%20Techniques)

Q23. What should I do when the error message "Camera Stabilizer is not available." appears? spacer.gif A23. Turn the camera off and then back on again. If the same message appears after you turn power back on, contact a CASIO service center or your original retailer.

Resetting EX-V7 error message

Hey Go here
http://world.casio.com/qv/download/en/ex_v7_firmup/
Download the latest firmware. Install it. Like the rest of the people. It seems like we all dropped it. And updating the firmware seems to help a bit.
Meaning you can now use tha Camera and take pictures, but when you turn it on, you will get the same error message for like a second. Then the Camera is back to normal.
If its under warranty take it back. And dont tell them it was dropped.
Cheers !

You need to send your camera in. This is something that can't be fixed at home. Call repairs at 800-706-2534 option 2 and they can tell you where to send it.

Message: Camera stabilizer is not available

I had the same problem (Camera stabilizer is not available) 3 days into my Thailand vacation. The Casio authorized repair centre says the ONLY solution is to return the camera for replacement of the lens assembly. In my case, they did not have the part and instead, gave me a USED replacement camera. Battery door is loose. File names are inconsistent (started at 395 on the USED camera and then it went to somewhere in the 200's and then started filling in starting at 1. Was also producing numerous 'globes' (lens reflections?) on many shots.

Although my original camera was only 6 days old when it died suddenly and inexplicably, Casio continues to refuse to give me a new camera, leaving me with the used, malfunctioning junk. Numerous emails have not helped. Casio is NOT a good choice to buy a camera from. Period. They should have stuck to calculators.

Camera Stabilizer is not available

I sent my camera back to casio with original reciept and they fixed it and returned it within 14 days. I was really shocked at the turn around time. Just call casio's 800 number and get the information you need.
