I assume you mean the "Engine Management System" (EMS) warning light. Unless you have access to the TEC2 equipment, then a trip to your local VX dealer is requred to diagnose the fault that is logged. Has anything else happened (revs limited to 4000rpm, etc.)?

There has been no other problem you can still drive the car with no problem but the light that stays on is annoying , when you go over 4000 revs in first gear it does start to judder,
I am trying to get hold of the local dealer to diagnose the problem.
Any more ideas please, i do't want to end up with a nasty bill.
Thanks
Mo.

The EMS can either be intermittent, or stay on. SInce it is ON all the time, I would arrange to have this seen to ASAP. The fault could be anything from ABS sensor failure, to airbag fault. With some engine sensor failures the engine is placed in safe mode, such that you cannot rev above 4000rpm, but this does not appear to be the case, so sounds more like an ancilliary accessory rather than an engine component that has failed...
