Update on PS3 Error 8001050F or Txt_ps3trophy_error

Sony have just confirmed the following in relation to this bug or error as experienced from 1st March 2010.

1) This current bug has just been confirmed as confined to Playstation Fat consoles and PS3 Slims are not effected by this error.

2) The problem is caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated into the PS3 Fat system which has caused a 'Roll Back in the Date'.

3) The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.

4) The consequences of this are as follows;

- PS3 Fat cannot synchronise trophies because of this clock error which in turn causes games to fail to load or crash during gameplay. This applies equally to both online and offline gameplay i.e. any games that have trophies are likely to be effected by this even when offline.

- Console can browse on the internet but will not connect to PSN.

- Time and data cannot be reset on the system.

- Users are unable to play back certain rental videos downloaded from the
PlayStation Store before the expiration date occurs.

- Error messages are displayed as outlined in the title of this Tip - also the console may display 'Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game.'

IMPORTANT
SONY are advising anyone experiencing this problem not to use the PS3 system until the issue is resolved. This is expected to be resolved within the next 24 Hours (1st to 2nd March 2010). This is due to the possibility of corrupted data causing errors in functionality and not being able to restore saved data or recording obtained trophies.

02 March 2010 Final Update: Panic over - all is well again

If this update has helped please do leave a vote for it. Many thanks.

Hi my ps3 wont work online....i have problems signing in saying my password is wrong ..when it isnt and when i try and click forgot password...it keeps reading error code (80023017) this is the first time...

Sony are either doing a maintenence update or trying to fix the latest update bug that is stopping people from logging on. It will be fixed soon, please give it some time and try again later.

Hope this helps you out.

My son is trying to log onto his ps3 network and it is saying error has occured , wont let him get into any online games ect

Following on from the PS3 3.50 firmware update today, we have started to hear of owners having problems logging on to their accounts.

We have heard of PS3 owners who have updated their system complaining that they cannot sign in, and every time they enter their password are getting the wrong password message. We have had customers who have two PSN accounts and cannot log into either of them. They are met with wrong password message, and even when they use "Forgot your Password" all that comes up is an error.

Conrad Zimmerman of Destructtoid is reporting that PSN is going to have some scheduled maintenance today. This could be why users are complaining of problems logging on to their accounts.

The maintenance is expected to take place during 8 am until 5pm Pacific time. There will be a lot of users who are at work during this time so it will not be a problem for them, but for everyone else it will be somewhat of an annoyance.

Trying to update billing information and the credit card information can not be updated?

if you have your PS3 account name and password you should be able to do this online. If you discovered this as of March 1 or after which it looks like you have then it is due to PS NETWORK IS DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE. they suggest to stay logged off your PlayStation while they try to resolve the issue.

Ps3 wont connect to Netgear Router and allow access

I had just the same problem, when netgear upgraded the firmware it would no longer connect. To solve this i went onto netgear.com, click support, enter the model number, then download firmware 40.01.37. not the most recent one. Follow the online instuctions after installing the firmware you should have no problem with entering the password.
