My TV was working last week (PT-51HX42) I moved it to a different room and now it will not power up. I removed the cover at the back and the fuse is intact. After putting the cover back on and plugging in the power, I tried to power on the TV and power light came on for 1/2 second, then there was a crackling sound from the back of the TV and then nothing. Please tell me how might be able to fix the tv. I replaced the convergence chips about 10 months ago.
No blinking at all, - it may have lit for a half second or so, but I am not sure it even did tha, after this happened, I tried unpluggin and plugging back in, it sizzled again once or twice, then the sound came on and seemed the tv was going to come on, but switched off again after maybe 2 sec and I have not been able toget anything else out of itNo blinking at all, - it may have lit for a half second or so, but I am not sure it even did tha, after this happened, I tried unpluggin and plugging back in, it sizzled again once or twice, then the sound came on and seemed the tv was going to come on, but switched off again after maybe 2 sec and I have not been able toget anything else out of it

The flyback transformer is located on the Brown Board and has the large red wire coming from its top and going into the HV splitter which has an additional three of the large rred HV wires. The flyback transformer is located on the Brown Board and has the large red wire coming from its top and going into the HV splitter which has an additional three of the large rred HV wires.

First check your power outlet, try connecting the TV to a different power outlet. Then see whether the LED light on the TV is on or blinking. Anyhow, this might need attention by a qualified service technician.
On Panasonic if you are getting 3 blinks is usually a convergence failure. You can get parts with instructions on how to fix this yourself from www.TvRepairKits.com
3 Blinks means Convergence -replace Both STK ICs they are big black ICs and will have Part number on them STK392-110 Mats Electronics sales ICs 1-800-628-1118
No thats not the Problem you have to know HOW TO ENTER SERVICE MENU Their is a Long Step in getting into the SM
if not done correctly you can really Mess this TV up! Once you Enter the service menu then you can go to convergence and adjust
to correct Pattern,Then you Must Exit correctly with the Save Mode to Save alinement or you will have to adjust all over again.
You have a defective temperature sensor 3 blinks flashes oncenevery 5 seconds IC2301(pin74 and 75) detects open or short of the Temperature Sensor (R2911) on Front Thermistor C.B.A., then indicates the error when Temperature Sensor is open or shorted. (The error is not detected for 1 minute after Lamp ON.)
could be the flyback you can take it out and ring it but first!! check the 1uf capacitor in the startup stage of the power supply and the diode next to it
how was the pix on your tv befor it shout off if it look like a 3d piix you have bad con.v ic to see f you do open it up and look for two big ic or stk. and look for the power suppy line and unplug it now tv should come if it do come on you have bad con.v stk 392-120or 110
your convergence power supply blew a fuse & probably one if not both of the STK ics. Normally when this happens the short takes out the low value resistors connected to the ics. it is common practice in the shop to replace both STKs and resistors
This happened a few years ago to me. I called the repairman out and he said that I had my tv too close to a magnet source, which turned out to be a speaker and also the reciever for my home theater. See if this may be your problem. Good Luck.
