1 Answer

Can you help please? Now that the sony connect store is no more ,i am trying to reload my NW-E005 with mp3 files,i deleted all the atrac files from my player, and converted all songs to mp3 to try and reload the player using windows.
All music appears to transfer to device o.k (no errors),even the memory capacity goes down everytime i load more music onto it,but when i unplug it and try to play i get a message saying "NO DATA".
Any advice would be appreciated, please bear in mind i am a 40 something computor numpty!!!!!!

    i've read, there are alternatives
    on wikipedia for example

If you copy them, just using the filesystem on your computer, I think the database on the player gets corrupted.

So the easiest and safest way is to use just sonicstage.

    Tnx for rating!
    Good luck

I have a new Walkman Mp3. somehow I have put two or three same songs on my MP3. They show up on the screen and play but DO NOT COME UP ON THE COMPUT ER SCREEN. How do I delete them

They may be hidden, look up how to view hidden files and folders for your computers operating system, they may be visible then. You can also try to backup the music on your MP3 player to your computer and then formatting your MP3 player by right clicking on it in my computer/computer and going to format in the drop down menu. after the format you can reload your desired music back onto your device.

I was trying to delete music off my sony NW-Eoo5 USB walkman and i think i may have deleted the wrong files and now when i remove the mp3 player from the computer i a get "file Error" message on...

Try reformatting the device. This will erase everything that is on the player.

When connected to the PC, locate the device in "My Computer" then right click and select format

Just opened mine an hour ago. Version 3.0 Sonic Stage in the box. They really want you to use their Atrac compression. In Sonic Stage, Import your files (or let it create your libray), then it will convert as needed.

I am now listening to music. Meanwhile I have downloaded Sonic Stage 4.3 from Sony website, as well as the 4.3 security patch.

However, they have an MP3 driver that will allow you to load MP3 onto this device, without Sonic Stage (you'll need to install). Doesn't say if it will allow WMA too.

I'll be trying more tomorrow.

My mp3 player doesn't player

Try voidMP3FM from I have a NW-E005 but the web site says the program supports the NW-E002 as well. Have used this program from day one and have never loaded sonic stage. Heard lots of complaints about it. Hope this helps.
