Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W35 Digital Camera
when i switch ON my camera the message appear on the Screen "Acess" and after few seconds diplays another message " Switch Off and Switch On again" but this doesnt seem to solve the problem. plus at the same time when i switch on the lens zooms in and out auto and does that till i swtch off. please can you help me as to why its behaving so??
The first time this happened I smacked the camera into the palm of my hand and it started right up and worked fine for a year. Yesterday it happened again and no amount of smacking helped. Today, as soon as I turned it on I took a sharp stylus, stuck it into the side of the lens and force levered it out. Now it works! Unfortunately I already bought a new camera.

What you are seeing is a generic stuck lens error message:
Your lens needs to be cleaned, repaired or replaced. There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.
I know, because I own one that charges a reasonable price to do the repair! (Google 'darntoothysam')
Just let us know if we can help!
You can also buy a defective camera online and use the parts to fix one from the two yourself.
Good luck from Darntoothysam com

Have you checked the display mode you're in? If you have the display set to off (to save power) and also the picture review time set to off, then you'll just see a black screen. Try pressing the 'Disp.' button below the screen when the camera is on - it should cycle through different settings with each press: Off, On, On with picture info. Similarly, in the playback mode this will show you more or less info about the picture you are viewing.
Even if the display is switched off, if you have your 'review' option in the menu set to anything other than Off (i.e. 2 seconds), then you should see the picture you've taken appear on the screen straight after taking it.
If it's not that, then I don't know the answer....
