Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players

1 Answer

My Philips 624 DVD Video player has sound problems with some DVD's rented. I've got to turn the volume all the way up on my TV and even playing it through my stereo sound system I get a flutter noise when I turn the volume loud enough to hear. I'm thinking DVD's with Dolby 5.1 surround sound might be the issue. I don't have a surround sound audio system. Any suggestions? Thanks!

No Picture on HDMI using Philips DVP5992.

You can try out by connecting the CVBS (Yello) out from player to TV and connect HDMI out from Player to TV. Goto CVBS input on Sony TV. Select set up and you should get the HDMI Video options availble. Try to change the resulution and check for Video on HDMI source.
Which disc you were playing PAL or NTSC? PAL should work for Europe.

Sound

The DVD player has a separate volume control - make sure the DVD player's remote volume is turned up as well as the TV's.

No sound

the DVDS151 has its own built in volume control that is easy to hit the buttons near the bottom of the remote and accidently turn the volume down.
even tho your tv volume is set high it won't pass the sound to the tv if it is on mute or turned down.

No sound thru dvd player, but fine for tv and vcr

Just had the same problem and it is fixed for me. With NO DISC in the player go to the System Menu. Next Navigate to Preferences on the top of the screen.

You will set an option titled "Default". Select that and it seems to reset the player to default settings and fixes the sound.|
