I have a loud noise during the spin cycle as if the drum is loose or off line.

    Please advise?

    Mine has the model# 417.41142000

Noise description: loud, grinding, continuous when spinning. Upon hand rotating,
it's smooth if little force is used sideway, but starts to make noise
when the cylinder is slightly off the axis.

I read about a "flash recall" on the bearing but when I called the recall #(800-659-7026), I was told there's no recall. Well, I think there should be after reading so many reports online on this problem.

Describe the noise you are hearing. Does the washer make the noise continuously? Does it only do it during the spin cycle? If you are talking about a loud rumble noise during the spin cycle, you may have a rear tub bearing that has gone bad. Please post back and describe the problem a little more in depth, so I can diagnose it correctly.

I had the same problem and it went on few months. Then the final spin didn't work and I could smell something buring. Called AHS and they sent a tech, who said it was the bearing. Cost about $350. to fix. Will be replacing the washer soon, I don't think we paid too much more than this at the scratch and dent place.

My Kenmore front-load washer starts to make the huge noise. The noise happens during the wash cycle, but is mild. During the spin cycle, the noise becomes really loud. It looks like the drum is getting loose and hitting other part of the machine.
I checked the drum, and I can sway the drum easily with my hand. So it looks some supporting structure is broken. I don't know if it is easy to open the washer to check what has been broken.

My washer started making a loud noise and won't drain or spin.

What brand of washer? Does it have a drive belt? If it doesn't have a drive belt. If it sounds like the motor is running, it has a coupler between the motor and the transmission. Very inexpensive and easy to change.

Lg tromm wm1812cw dum makes load noise when spinning

LOUD NOISES IN MACHINE;

LOT OF THINGS TO CHECK, THE BELT LOOSE OR WORN, THE CLUTCH, THE TRANNY, THE BEARINGS BOTH TUB SEAL AND BEARING, THE REAR DRUM BEARING,
THE DRIVE PULLEY- If the washer is making a loud noise the drive pulley might be worn out, cracked, loose or bent. Remove the drive pulley and inspect it carefully. If it is damaged or defective replace it.
THE TRANSMISSION, THE MOTOR COUPLER, THE MOTOR DRIVE BEARINGS,
THE DRIVE MOTOR- If the washer is making a loud noise the drive motor bearings may have worn out. Washer motors are normally almost silent when they run. If the motor is run without a belt hooked up to it and it's loud it will have to be replaced.

When washer spins it makes a loud banging noise, washer is a front load kenmore

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Anytime loud noises are heard, it can almost always be traced back to the drive motor. That is what controls the spinning. Check that and the spin bearing. One of these two are probably your problem. Make sure the washer is level though. Check the suspension.
