Epson RX500 waste pad replacement instructions

I have an EPSON Stylus Photo RX500 printer and the ink waste pads need to be replaced. I already reset the counter that tripped past its limit, but now I have to replace the pads. I ordered and have new waste pads, but don't have any intructions on how to install them. Do you know if this is a difficult process that I can perform myself or should I take it in to a service dealer? Are there any intructions available anywhere?

Thanks,
Gary

What were the part numbers on those pads?

I bought my replacement pads through compassmicro.com. If you go to their website, select "new parts" on the right side menu, select "all-in-ones" for the RX500 printer, then select the "Stylus Photo RX500" printer. Since they didn't list the pads, I e-mailed them and explained that I needed replacement pads and they said that I needed the following part numbers:

The pads that need to be replaced are reference numbers 553-556. Below are the Epson part numbers, descriptions, and the Epson list prices:

1267934 porous pad, ink eject, lower right $2.46
1267935 porous pad, ink eject, upper right $3.00
1267936 porous pad, ink eject, lower left $1.72
1267937 porous pad, ink eject, upper left $1.72

It cost and additional $10 for shipping & handling. I got the pads, but I haven't taken the time to replace them yet since it looked rather complicated. It has been 7 months since I had to reset my counter and it is still printing fine, but I imagine that the pad will get over saturated at some point.

It's quite complex, but the instructions can be found (for a price) here:

I bought the instructions, but can't find a source of the pads. I am trying to clean my old ones, but they are pretty filthy. Please let me know where you got yours. Thanks. Rob.

Why my epson stylus c 67 ink and paper flashing alternately and cannot print, printer occured a problem

Look at this link for the app to reset the waste pad ink counter, and the video helps too; remeber to clean your waste ink pad because it can spill ink to your desk in a extreme case; you need to open your printer to clean the waste ink pad; search for instructions online.
PD: I have reset my counter six times and cleaned the waste ink pad two times; after six years I keep using my printer correctly.

Replacing waste ink pads on epson rx685

Actually it will very hard for you to access the ink pads for it was designed to be only touched by their service center. I would pressume your printer is giving you errors on waste ink pads full? Try this to reset the counter and be able to use your printer again..

Epson stylus photo rx685 the problem is, waste ink pad in the printer is saturated, I have removed all the wested ink in the priter, but is the same problem that am experiencing. Please help me solve this...

go to www.octoinkjet.co.uk/wib/ to download one of their inkjet ink pad reset utilities. It may just solve your problem. I couldn't clean or replace the ink pads on my epson RX700, so I bought their special adaptor kit. It solved the problem for me. If you already have cleaned the ink pads, maybe you can just download the reset utility. I hope it works for you.

Printer sending message

Waste ink tank/pads getting full.

Normally your remedy is to replace the "Waste Ink Pad/Pads" with a new one/ones and then reset the "Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter". The waste ink pads are normally housed in a black plastic box. They are located in the bottom of the printer, towards the front, just under where the paper starts to exit. You would have to remove the "Top Cover Assembly" to be able to get to the screw or screws that hold that assembly in place. If you cannot figure out how to remove the waste ink pad holder assembly [plastic box], you may need to actually get a SERVICE MANUAL, to refer to that removal procedure.

You may want to try doing a general search on the "Fixyourownprinter.com" printer repair site, under WASTE INK PADS or WASTE INK COUNTER RESET PROCEDURE.

Reset ink-pad counter on epson stylus photo 1400

Hi,

The simplest way to do this is to grab a copy of the A10_IPR utility that Epson distribute to their customers...

The utility is available to North American customers if you register no this site page http://www.epson.com/ipr/

The utility is also know to be available in the wild if you search for "waste ink ipr".

Just remember to scan any download using a virus and malware scanner before you attempt to use it as some utilities contain trojans or similar nasties.

Hope that helps.

The same instructions available all over the internet for the R300 should suffice for the RX500...

In terms of resetting the waste ink counter, the SSC utility will provide the necessary compatibility as well...
