Lets see if I can be of help here , what I suggest is to first clean anything that has to do with the product (creative) from your home comp. & laptop as well , I mean unistall the software , and then go to START click SEARCH and on "ALL FILES & FOLDERS" write " CREATIVE" , then delete anything that shows on that search , NOW !! re install software to both PC & laptop , hopes this helps AJ

Widows vista compatable

make sure you have the latest version of the program and the latest updates for your OS (you could even try older versions of the software). Is the software compatible with vista? Try and run the program in safe mode... If it still don't work then maybe it just isn't compatible with your current system configuration (google the problem to see if others had the same issue). does it freeze other computers running vista? Ask yourself these types of questions to narrow down the possiblities and therefore finding the source of your problem. Zen micro firmware problem

I just got a ZEN Micro 4GB player for free due to Firmware problem. This totally fixed the firmware issue. Windows XP PC with Media Player 10 and the latest driver and firmware from creative. Once I had all that I plugged in my player, let it recognize and then re-flashed to latest firmware. BAM now the play is working perfectly and I can sync music to it. Thanks for the fix.

    Creative Zen Micro

vista is not supported . you can try this:
you should not have had to install anything for the Zen to work on Vista. If you have installed any Creative software, remove it. Reboot, plug your player in, open Device Manager, and remove the device that shows up representing your player (completely uninstall it). Reboot again, and plug in your player. It should be recognized now.

If that still doesn't work, then boot your player into Recovery Mode, and perform both a Disk Cleanup and a Reformat. Reboot the player and try plugging it in again.
if it still doesn't try another computer and upload the latest firmware to it and then try it on your pc after firmware is loade
